Cloth Diapering

Tide question

I've been CDing my dd for five weeks with no problems. I decided to check my diapers on their extra rinse to make sure all the suds and soap are coming out b/c the tide smell seemed strong after being washed. There were a ton left! So I rinsed two more times.

I use tide to the level 1 line. If I go three days between washes, ill go between the one and two line. Is this too much? I want to make sure my diapers are still getting clean!

And should I do anything just in case there is soap build up on them? Or not worry about it?

Re: Tide question

  • I wash EOD and use just below the 1 line also. This seems to be working for us. I switched to tide around 5 months ago and no issues so far.

  • We have kind of hard water but have a water softener. Our stash is prefolds, gmd fitteds, and kawaii p&n.

Ill try the hot washes this weekend and see if there is build up. Ill also try cutting back a little on detergent and see if that helps.

    Thanks

  • Loading the player...
  • When you looked, how long did you look? There are agitation bubbles that go away vs soap bubbles.

I think they were soap bubbles... but I didn't think about how there could be different kinds of bubbles. I check that the next time I wash diapers.

  • I've only started using Tide this week.  We have a water softener. I have just been putting 1 tablespoon into each load on my TL HE machine.  FWIW I can still smell the Tide on the dipes after washing, not super strong though and that's after 3 rinses.

  • I use 1 teaspoon of tide and 1 teaspoon of oxyclean. This is for one and a half days worth of diapers.
