Drive-bys should not be allowed to post birth stories. I want to read the ones of the people I know...why would I care about your birth story if I don't know who you are?
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
OK, so this is just unpopular in my immediate family, but I really want LO to arrive this weekend. (Due on Sunday for those mobile - ticker is a little off)
Why you ask?
Because BOTH my Mom and my MIL will be out of town! They will both be just a few (4-5) hours drive away so it is ideal. I can call them if I go into active labor and know that they won't be able to make it back to sit around in the waiting room at the hospital.
MH and I decided that we weren't going to call anyone until LO arrives, but we know this will cause issues with the grandparents. So if LO comes this weekend, we can call them prior to when we plan AND they still won't make it back.
Channing Tatum doesn't really do anything for me. I will take Jason Sudekis over him any day.
Also, we are not opening any non-essential baby stuff until we see how LO does. If she sleeps in her Pack n Play, I am returning the Rock n Sleeper to buy things she needs like more cloth diapers. I know returning shower gifts gets hated on, but I don't really care.
It doesn't bother me that my family and ILs want to be at the hospital while I labor. They have been fully informed it will most likely be a LONG PROCESS and that I will not rush to let them in my PP room.
So I will call them when we head to the hospital so they can be there in the waiting room if they want.

I wish I would have done this. My H went on a building spree while I was at work one weekend and I came home to a pack n play, little lounger, and baby swing sitting in my living room. Why do I need all this sh* t?
Also, I didn't realize returning shower gifts was hated on. I've been doing this. I don't need ten packs of receiving blankets and 300 binkies. They got traded in for diapers and wipes.
I don't like calling babies "squishies". It sounds weird to me, like they are toys or something. My baby is not a squish, he is a baby. I realize this is a huge UO on this board, but there it is.
I'm with you on this one. Not sure why it is weird to me, but it is.
I secretly hope that MOOB spreads bump-wide (because there aren't enough acronyms already). I giggle every time I see it, and I need that the most when I'm a MOOB
Would that make me famous!?!?
Im pretty sure you already are!!

I can't believe we only have a few UO's up today! ladies must be off taking care of their outside babies
I guess my only UO for the day is that 1) I looooooove reading vents about people's families, especially MIL problems. it's like a soap opera! but then I'm so guilty of 2) totally judging others for not sticking up for themselves and doing what they want, mil/family be damned.
Didn't think I had an UO. But the XP about the child riding in the front seat changed my mind!
I don't think what that Dad did was THAT terrible, and I definitely disagree with the women posting that they would not trust their husbands alone with their children after an incident like that.
Maybe it's because I live in a more rural area that it doesn't seem that alarming to me, but I know that when I was little I LOVED when my Dad would "let me drive" aka sit on his lap & use the steering wheel. I'm sure my kids will get that same experience with my husband on quiet back roads like I did.
(yes, I know the OP said they were in a mainly residential area with little traffic, but a back road with little traffic seems similar to me.)
My unpopular, probably Un American, definitely Un Utahn, (I'm a transplant, so that's part of my excuse) opinion is I hated the movie Frozen! Ugh, I felt like the previews were misleading, I totally thought it was about a silly snowman. The snowman was barely even in it! Totally overrated, yuck.
@NanaCook don't waste your time, totally lame. I've never seen Tangled, I guess I'm more of an old school Disney movie kind of girl. It definitely has nothing on Beauty and the Beast, or The Little Mermaid though!
I hate it when people post take always from their labors. Yeah, that may have worked for you, in your labor but that doesn't mean you should write out the if-than conclusion for everyone to read.
Example: I never would have chosen natural birth since I had the epi with my first but zmg EVERYONE SHOULD GO NATURAL.
Or
GET THE FUCKING EPI DUMBO's!!!!
It's very sanctamommy.
Crap. I forgot mine. My takeaway is 1 baby boy and hopefully some extra mesh panties. I love these things.
Wait. I brought the baby boy in with me. So that doesn't count.
I hate the mesh undies! They gave me a pair at the hospital and I had two in my home birthing kit as well. I used them the first day but they're so gross and leak everywhere. Blah!
I don't like Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Porter, or Twilight
I agree with ALL of these. Can we add lord of the rings? Only reason I feel like I should defend it is cause it was filmed in my beautiful country.... But it sux.
Oh no!!! One of my favs of all time.
I am such a lord of the rings fan. It made me want to go to new zealand all the more!
I hate when people talk about being tired ( aside from the initial infant adjustment period. You ladies are good.) or busy. especially people who talk about it on FB. Everyone is tired! Everyone is busy!
It's like jet lag. You have to pretend like the time difference didn't happen. Immediately adjust and don't acknowledge. Haha. If you acknowledge that you are tired then it's true. Just power through people!
