Swimsuits with support??

We are leaving for vacation in a couple weeks, and I need a new swimsuit. My pre-pregnancy suits are too small, and I'm not ready to break out the maternity suits. I'm a 34DD and I swear my bewbies weight about 10 lbs a piece right now, so I'm looking for something that is supportive, comes in bra sizes (sm, med, lg etc do not work!), and cannot be a halter (too heavy on my neck, I get bad headaches). And I prefer the bottoms to actually cover my bottom. So no VS. I have an athleta suit I love, but nothing really caught my eye today. Anyone have any suggestions of where to look? I'll order it online. TIA!

Re: Swimsuits with support??

  • Lands end has great suits that hold up really well.

  • I love the suit I got from Figleaves.com last summer. They're in bra sizes and actually have cute patterns. They're having a sale right now so some of the bikini pieces are under $20. The only downside is, they ship from England so it takes 5-10 days and the express shipping is expensive.

  • I got a nice supportive one in the plus section at JCP. It has removable, adjustable straps and supports the girls nicely. I'm a 44DD

  • Before pregnancy I was a 32DDD or for the sake of finding something that fit a 34DD so I can help you out.

I know you said no halter (and i know exactly what you mean, usually they use the halter as the main support).  But I had GREAT success with this one from Tommy Bahama (i found it at Macy's)

The first is the top - BELIEVE me the suit stays up great and the halter is not as "load bearing" as most others, the weight bearing is on the band around your torso and the underwire support, and its ties.
The skirted hipster is SUPER cute and covers your behind without being too much.  I don't have it in this exact color.  If you look at the other suits a lot of them are the same suit different fabric.

Below is one of their fit like a bra - it looks like it has the same cup, underwire and band construction as the halter but with shoulder straps.

    Hope it helps.

I got 2 bathing suits last year.  If you have a tight schedule, I wouldn't use them cause it could get "caught" in customs.  Order a little bigger than normal.  They seemed to be just a touch too snug for me both tops and bottoms.
  • After my first, I was a 36G, so I can relate. There's a bra shop not far from me that specializes in bigger sizes (since sadly VS doesn't carry Gs), and they also sell swimwear. Maybe find a local boutique place? Otherwise, here's their swim wear: https://www.brasthatfit.net/allswimwear.html It's three women in small town Michigan, so not the most sophisticated site, but really good product.

  • This drove me nuts with my last pregnancy.  Every single maternity swimsuit I tried on made me look like I was carrying triplets in three separate baby bumps.  Not the look I was going for.  Who decided that just as many women are growing their boobies to costco-package sizes, we want to let the girls roam free? sigh.
I ended up looking at non-maternity tankinis that come in bra sized suits.  One brand I really like is freya.  I got mine at the Town Shop in NYC, but here's another store that carries them:  https://www.lindasonline.com/freya-swimwear.html

    good luck in your search!
