Hello ladies sorry for the late post...

How did you sleep?

Any new pregnancy, symptoms, cravings, or aversions?

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or updates? (Ticker change?)

QOTD: Lots of schools are on spring break this week or last week... what were some of your favorite spring break memories or trips?

Re: *** Wednesday Bedrest Check-in ***

  • Thankfully I didn't have protein in my urine and my bp was only 110/86 so the Dr didn't assume pre-e right away but since I did gain 9lbs since Thurs he wants to keep a close eye on my bp and other symptoms. So I'm supposed to monitor my bp at home and go back on Monday and then again on Thursday

I'm looking forward to my afternoon nap today... for sure.

Today's my ticker change. 34 weeks!! Next week we'll get to stay at our local hospital if we need to deliver early. If I make it to full term that will be 3weeks from now and I can get my cerclage removed.

QOTD: I've never done anything crazy for spring break. We usually take a trip to the coast for fishing and a little beach time. Sometimes we'll spend all night on the pier, sleep all day and be back the next night.

  • Hello! I'm new here... I made a separate intro post but I was placed on BR 2 days ago for high bp. My midwife is trying to rule out pre-e with some labs (my urine test is pending).

I slept really well last night which is good because I hardly slept at all the night before.
My heartburn is so much worse now that I'm laying down a lot of the time! I'm craving a lemon lime slushie, wish we had a sonic around here!
I have an appt with my midwife and a nst tomorrow. Kind of nervous for this but hopefully my little guy is doing fine!
My favorite spring breaks were when I was in college. One year I went to Panama City beach with a bunch of girlfriends and another year I went to myrtle beach with my now-husband and another couple. Fun times!
  • Good afternoon bedrest friends!

Was up from 1:30am-3:30am with heartburn and contractions... blech, haven't napped yet either though may try to soon.

I'm really miserable on my nifedipine now. I stopped taking it around the clock last week since they monitored me for 5 hours off of it and my cervix was long and completely closed. My MFMs don't think it does anything long term to prevent PTL and use it more as symptomatic relief. I do contract more without it, but when I take it I'm a shakey, dizzy, light headed mess. I'm guessing this is due to low BP as they've been running lower at appts even off the Nifed. So yeah, I think I may be totally done because it freaks me out. Now I need to figure out other ways to deal with the constant contractions.

Updates: appts yesterday were fine, I was contracting (no surprise) during my NST but LO doesn't seem to mind. My MFM confirmed that they wouldn't do anything to stop labor at this point, so I'm fine to labor at home for a while as long as I'm not bleeding and feeling baby move. Next week is another NST and a growth scan- excited to see our chub!

QOTD: In 8th grade I started at a new school, so to help with budding friendships my parents let me bring a friend with us to Disney World. It was a blast and that friend is actually still my BFF. I totally bribed her into it!

  • I slept too good last night and didn't want to wake up this morning. I then took a nap then was groggy all afternoon. The Procardia makes me dizzy and groggy sometimes.

I'm excited to be 27 week today. I'm hoping to make it through the next 3-5 weeks still pregnant. That is my first big hurdle.

I may have to start taking family and friends up on their offers of help. DH works late some nights and l need help with DS who is a very active 4 year old.

QOTD: I never had any super fun spring break memories. I lived a pretty boring life through college.

  • Slept great last night! The pillow mountain was successful.

My right boob is leaking because of course it is. Silly boobies. Also, does anyone else feel like bedrest just drains them of all energy? I was amazed that after only five-ish days, taking a short shower today was like climbing Everest.

No new appointments until next week!

QOTD: Hmm... once some friends and I were in a car accident on the way to spring break. No one was hurt but the girl who was driving was just a moron and paid no attention. She kept trying to tell the cops it wasn't her fault that the driver in front of her "was going the speed limit." So that kind of sucked but now when we pass by that spot I can't help but crack up at that girl's defense.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Haziedaze what do your contractions feel like? I slept about as usual last night which means up for a few random hours. I was kinda crabby today and feel I'm having growing pains. My belly is starting to really show and I was 122 pounds when I started so a belly is strange. I also had surgeries this summer and I feel some of the annoying dull aches could be scar tissue stretching. I'm nervous for my cervix check tomorrow and for my kidney and gall bladder u/s. But looking forward to fresh air for the first time in a week. On a positive note my aunts came over with dinner, presents, breakfast and scrubbed my house including taking down some winter decorations. I feel blessed. Sleep sound ladies!

They can really vary. The key common feature is that I can feel my uterus get hard all over. They usually start out with a crampy feeling down low then build over about 30-40s to a peak where I'm hard all over. I usually feel them the most at the top of my uterus then they gradually fade. Sometimes they are more intense down low in my pelvis, the top of my uterus is still hard though. These are the ones that worry me/I pay attention to because that's how I remember labor contractions with DS. The are often uncomfortable (like having to pee really bad) but sometimes are painful and I have to breathe through them. Hope that helps!
