Heart Problems

My son has a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, where the walls of the lower chambers are thick and makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood. He also has floppy valves which cause an obstruction and an aorta that may be too thin. He will have go to the nicu as soon as he's born to start treatments. I was wondering if any moms out there have had their baby go through something similar, or for that matter any condition where your baby has had to be on medication or have surgery. How do you deal with the fear of what might happen?

    My son was born with multiple heart defects. He was taken straight to the nicu and we stayed in the cardiac unit for 3 weeks. He will have open heart surgery at 6 months. It is terrifying, but it helps to find parents who have been through it. There are some great heart groups on FB. Also look to see if you have a mended little hearts branch in your town.
