Rec your E-Reader

DD broke my Kindle Fire when she decided to do a tap dance on it the other day. I am heading on vacation in a month and want a good e-reader that I can see clearly when I'm outside lounging in the sun. What would you suggest? (It does not need to double as a tablet this will be just for me for reading books).

Re: Rec your E-Reader

  • Love my nook. I got an iPad for Christmas and was able to download the nook app on it and access all my books.

  • The Kindle Paperwhite. The best and will probably last you longer than any others on the market because Amazon is not going to go out of business like Borders.

  • I got an ASUS tablet with the kindle app and love it. It does everything a fire and iPad does, but it was $200 from staples.

    I love it

This and because it's not an LCD screen like many of the tablets you won't have the glare in the sun.

  • You definitely can't read the iPad outside! Otherwise, I love it for reading!

  • Kindle.  I love mine and despite having an iPad I still read all my books on my kindle.  I'd get the paperwhite.  Mine is a few years old so I don't have a paperwhite version, but I love mine.

If you're an amazon prime member you can get some books for free.  Also a lot of libraries support kindle as well these days.

  • Thanks for all the advice. I ordered my paperwhite last night and I was able to sell my kindle fire with the cracked screen on ebay so everything worked out great.
