NBR - Strep??

I was diagnosed with strep throat on Monday morning and started on antibiotics. From everything I've read, I should be feeling better by now, and I actually feel much worse. I've never had strep before, so I'm not really sure what to expect.

For anyone that has had it - how long did it take until you started feeling better? I had a fever most if the day Monday that seemed to break in the middle of the night. Since then, in addition to the sore throat, I now have a ton on congestion, coughing, and my head feels fuzzy and full of crap. Even my eyes are looking pretty bad... I didn't think that strep had these other symptoms? Do I need to go back to the dr? I went to a walgreens take care clinic, so I'm not sure if I can just call them back.

    The sore throat and fever should be better by 48 hour after the antibiotics are started. Strep is pretty easy to kill but there's a small chance it's resistant to the antibiotic. Antibiotics won't help the other things like cough, runny nose, congestion, etc. It's likely that you have a virus in addition to the strep. Feel better!

    Thanks Kelly - I went back to walgreens and they think that I do have a nasty cold on top of the strep.
