I ordered J's birthday cake today from the grocery store bakery - they give us a free smash cake, but i need a second one because I'm doing a photo sesh later.
Anyway- the bakery wanted to charge us a crazy amount for the extra tiny cake, so I thought I'd just make one.
Any SIMPLE recipes / instructions to share? I will just frost it in white with red piping like a baseball. I'm a great cook but not much of a baker...so simplicity is key. Do I just bake a normal cake and then use cookie cutters to cut out rounds and stack them and frost? Any other suggestions??

Oh yeah - Target gal... duh!! Target is our 1st choice too. Our wedding cupcakes were from Target - DE-lish! I'm sure they're reasonable for the smash cakes. I know our cupcakes were inexpensive.

Also look at your dishes. I have lots of oven safe dishes. Soup bowls glass mixing bowls large muffin tins as long as it's oven safe you should be good to go.
