Nursing covers

Any recommendations ladies? I'm looking for one that has good coverage but will still allow me to see the little guy. There are so many kinds out there and some are ridiculously expensive. Just curious if anyone has had a good experience with a certain brand etc

Re: Nursing covers

  • I preferred to use the A&A blankets......tucked one end under my bra strap and then just covered LO. they were perfect for our June baby in providing coverage while I figured out NIP, but also being light and airy

  • I bought this one from etsy.

It's really lightweight and I like that it doesn't look like a giant adult bib. IMO it was a little overpriced for what it is (a piece of knit fabric) but I think it'll work out well.

  • I had a coupon for a free Udder Cover (https://www.uddercovers.com/), so that is what I bought.  Of course this can only be of use to me before I start tandem feeding the girls.  Anyone have any luck with udder covers?  I only paid shipping for it...(coupon was in the destination maternity catalog and found another one in the bag of goodies they gave me at my first trip to Motherhood Maternity).  I like that Etsy one!  So cute!

  • My sister recommended Bebe Au Lait. It has a sort of tent thing so you can watch baby. I've seen them at Babies R Us and Chapters here in Canada. They have nice colour choices. It reminds me of an apron with an adjustable neckstrap.

I also have an absurd number of A and A blankets.

I have that coupon as well. I think I'm gonna go for it too. I used the car seat cover coupon already.

  • I had an udder cover, and will use it for this LO too.  I really did need it in the beginning.  Later on I was OK with just a blanket.  But it is also really nice for pumping in the car ( I never pump while driving, but I know some people do).  DH and I took a few road trips and I could pump in the car with the nursing cover and still see what was going on in there.

Was thinking about the carseat cover too :)...have you recieved yours yet?  Do you like it?

  • I just got the bebe au lait cover and I really do like it. They have cute color options and a little pocket to hold a pacifier or something. It's lightweight as well

I don't think I would ever use it because I never felt comfortable nursing in public but I am so in love with that purple chevron print!

I did have an uddercover but found it to be awkward. It was better for me just to find a quiet private space. (Not a suggestion for others, just my personal experience. )

  • I also ordered the udder cover. Seems decent enough for only $12. I like the wire in the top neck part so the cover stands out a little more. Obviously haven't used it yet but for the price it seems acceptable. I had registered for one at target before I bought this one but was about double the price.
  • I have that carseat canopy too. We used it one time. I wouldn't buy it again. If it is windy at all it blows all around and is quite annoying. We found just a blanket tucked around was better for the quick trips in and out of the car.

No way I could have done that, I absolutely need to see my baby to nurse and make sure there's proper latching.that's a big reason why I never used a nursing cover. But also I find them way less discrete than just nursing the baby without a cover. A nursing cover is like a giant flashing sign that says look at me I'm breastfeeding my baby. If you just layer a nursing tank under your shirt, you can pull the shirt up, the nursing tank down and nurse without exposing anything. Way less obvious to passerby's IMO. Sorry OP no insight on your original question!

I have the Boppy one. It's nice because it folds up really small into its own pocket. I've seen them at Marshalls and other stores in the past.

I've also read good reviews on this one.

It's a cute idea but TBH it kinda looks like it would be a huge pain.  :-S
