Target Registry Trouble

Is anyone having issues with purchased items not being marked off their registry at Target? Even when bought online from the registry, things are not being marked off for me.

I guess it's not a huge deal but with my shower this weekend I will likely have many duplicate items.... Just wondering if anyone is having this issue.

Yeah, I had that problem too. There were some things that showed up as purchased online, but MIL said when she printed the registry in the store, they were still on there. I could even see online that the Bumbo seat had been purchased twice, but I guess in the store it never came off.

But there were also things that didn't show up as purchased at all. Possibly a mistake, but possibly people just forgot to have the cashier scan the registry.

We registered at Target and got a couple of duplicate items, but I'm not sure if it was due to Target registry fail or people just not having the cashier scan the registry upon checkout. Returns were really NBD even without receipts.

I tend to blame human error, either the purchaser or cashier, when it comes to most registry "problems," but, really, it's NBD, you can easily just return or exchange for something else.

Ditto this. I got several things I didn't need that were not from my registry. Also got some duplicates. Ended up with a gift card for $148. That will definitely help getting the actual stuff I still need that I did register for. Target has definitely improved their return process.

I am having this same problem, but with BRU--I don't mind returning items if there are duplicates, but I always feel bad for the person whose gift is opened second at a party, only to discover that it is something the MTB has already received. It happened to me once, and I know if was nobody's fault, but it did make me feel kind of bummed.

I agree with human error. My Mom bought a baby tub off the list from Target for my cousin. She got the list scanned and off it came. Except at the shower 3 other people bought the same thing and didn't think to to tell the cashier, so to them the item was still available until my Mom bought and got it scanned.

Yes,you can mark it off as done from your phone on the target app.

Don't even get me started on the millions of ssues I have had with my Target registry. I had so many complaints from family that I was ready to completely just drop Target altogether. I had someone try to buy me th pack and play and swings I wanted but were unable to do so through the registry/online. Plus, there are constantly alerts on things no lnger being available online or in the store. I have to update our registry regularly. My latest issue is that I can add items to my registry without signing in to my account, but cannot delete items unless I am signed in...anyone else see the shady factor in this?

According to our Target registry we're getting 3 carseats. When we've inquired they tell us it's being updated and we can see it online, but there must be glitch in the store.

We are having the same problem. My SIL e-mailed us after she got our gifts and told us they were still showing on the registry even though she marked them off. I hope it's not a huge problem for the baby shower next week.

You registry is an open invitation to return anything at Target. Just return the duplicate items and use your completion coupon + the money to get the things that were not purchased.

Yes! I've gotten 4 baby carriers! They are really bad about it.

Yeah I believe I am. I have my second shower coming up (just with my MIL's friends), and it shows nothing has been purchased. I guess it's possible that nothing has been, but I find that a little hard to believe only because I've seen things go from my Buy Buy Baby registry. This leads me to believe Target is not checking things off. Also, for my friend's shower, I bought her a bathtub from her Target registry, and 2 other people did, as well. I guess I'll wait and see what happens!

Glad I am not alone! I know I will likely have to return and rebuy due to having my shower on the other side of the country.... But I am disappointed especially with a lot of people buying online and shipping-- you'd think online purchases would easily be marked off by their system. Oh well.

At least the duplicates aren't being opened in front of the giver when they show up on our doorstep
