I doubt there is a fool proof way to avoid this. we use bibs and burp cloths, but inevitably DD spits up when I don't expect it. Like today when she spit up all down my cleavage :-)
I mean, they are babies. Generally they will spit up.
This happened to me today, too! Right after I tucked her in the Moby and we were walking into Target. I said "Eww, thanks J!" and DS asked what happened, haha! I just told him nothing and distracted him with the wonder of Tar-jay

I was BF the other day and LO spat out my nipple, burped, then spat up on my nipple before latching back on again....happened so quick I didn't have time to react.
I've also been caught short without a bib or burp cloth and used my breast pad to catch the spit up....only to realise that seriously leaky boob means same pad had to go back in the bra after feeding time at the zoo was over Took me the rest if the day to remember the pad had spit up on it lol
Mine was right after I put her in the KTan! Maybe it was being upright that triggered it? At least it was before her bath, LOL. Except I haven't gotten to take a shower yet... :-/
@golfergirl08 I've actually noticed that my little guy will often spit up when I put him upright, if he's been laying down for a while. Even if I haven't fed him recently. And I've also notice a trend in him spitting up a lot after he's been in the K'Tan. The only two times he's majorly spit up have been after he's been in the K'Tan a long while, then I've taken him out to nurse him. Part way into eating he's puked it all up. Maybe it has something to do with being in the wrap. But maybe not.
Anyone else's LO manage to wriggle out of range of the burp cloth, that you've made sure covers both shoulders and all of your chest, before spitting up? Emily wriggles SOooo much that she moves the burp cloth so she can spit up on clean clothes or bare skin!
