Play room under construction!!

So we have a smallish 3 bedroom house with 3 crazy boys! It seems to be too small for a long winter so we are turning the front half of our basement into a play room! This year we are building the walk in closet (hopefully) this weekend, putting down a carpet and last weekend we painted the ceiling
And put in new windows. I am so excited! Next year we'll put up finished walls and new doors but it will be useable this spring yay!!

  • Fun! We're also working on making our basement a liveable space. It will be DDs playroom and DHs (not-so-manly) man-cave AND technically a spare room. DH made it so the spare bed rolls out of the wall (he built into the crawl space) and a giant chalkboard for DD will cover the hole. Right now he's working on putting new drywall on the ceiling, but since he's away for training that's left the basement at a messy stand still.

  • Ours will never be a "perfect" space but it will be a functional space! The ceiling was bare wood this is it now
The colors will be grey, the ceiling, blue and orange not positive which where yet

  • You'll love it!!! We finished off our basement for a play room. I'm going to miss it when we move. I bought a play climber off of craigslist and put it down there. It helps get out a lot of their energy in the winter.

We have a playroom, although not very big, but I wish we had a basement. DH and I always think of the things we could do with a basement.

  • I am jealous of everybody who has a play room. We don't have a room we can dedicate to that so all of DS's toys are in his room or the living room. I feel like my living room is a play room most days.

When we just had one or two kids that was fine but we have THREE and the two younger ones share a room so no room to play there! We will keep a bunch of toys in the living room since that's the main floor so they need to play there BUT it will be great to have another place to play and rough house!!

I hear you! We have a two (small) bedroom bungalow with a crawl space, no spare rooms, and no play room.

Our living room is the play room. Maybe one day the basement can be a place to play since it's finished but I want to be able to keep my eye on him while he plays and he's not old enough for me to feel comfortable with him playing somewhere I can't see.
