I called 911 today for my baby

I didn't think I would be the mom having to call 911 ever but we had a choking scare. S started gasping and I found a piece of thread she found on the floor in her mouth and partially down her throat. I got it out but I called 911 because she had started turning blue and kept gasping after I got the thread out. They came, she ended up being ok. One minute after they left I called again because blood came out in her snot and she kept gasping off and on. OMG. I'm so shaken up over this. I know we can never be too safe but I'm still freaking out. She is and will be fine but soooo scary.

Scary! Glad it was all okay.
This is one of my worst fears. The other day she nearly choked on a string that came off her hat Pom Pom while we were driving. Luckily I saw her gagging and pulled over and she vomited all over me before the thread came out. It was terrifying.

Y'all are all so sweet! Thanks for the support and kind words. I'm contemplating about having a slumber party in the nursery. I might be more traumatized than she is, and she was very upset.

She just started crawling a few days ago and I knew I had to be vigilant. I don't even know where the thread came from. The worst part is I had just seen it and said to myself I need to pick it up and then got distracted. Mom guilt is setting in. Last week she had the button from her owl hat in her mouth. Wtf. It is a brand new hat. I feel like I'm always extra cautious but obviously it can happen to anyone! I will be vacuuming the house for days now.
