Transitioning!

I moved Harley's crib yesterday into her room (finally) and she woke up EVERY HOUR. I mean, I figured out how to get her back to sleep within minutes, so it wasn't so bad. My friend said it could take a week to transition, but that seems too short to me. Those who moved babies into a new room, how long did it take for your LO to get used to sleeping in the new environment? Is it really as short as a week? I understand every baby is different, so there is no guarantee that I'm going to get the same answer from all my mom friends, I am just curious.

  • That sounds about right to me -- a week. Maybe even less!! May long sleepy nights be in your near future!!
  • I don't know why a week doesn't sound right. Just seems too short of a time frame.

  • Babys seem to adapt faster then us adults. Bentley no longer seems interested in a nuk at bed time and ive been working on that for a week. :-)

  • Hoping it only takes a week for you.  That would be awesome.  I need to transition DD out of my bed but I'm not sure I want to yet.  I know it will be harder the longer I wait.  Even though she's a bed hog I absolutely love waking up in the morning to her snuggly little self.  We also sleep better and it's much easier on me every time she wakes up grumping in the middle of the night.

  • Well, last night she was up every 2ish hours, but at 2am it was so hard to get her back to sleep that after 45min, I just brought her in my bed. I'm sure that is not going to help the process but I couldn't figure out anything else that would work.

  • I wish I could help but everytime I have changed where Liliana has slept, she always takes to it right away.

    That's awesome!
    2 for 2 tonight I hope for you !

  • Nope. She was up at midnight, 2am, 4am, 4:30am, 5am, and then 6am. Of course, BF was over last night so if she was trying to get me to take her into my bed, there was just no way!
