DS has gotten a little obsessed with the ABC's. He stays up at naptime and points at the letters on the wall, and yells them out (they're all wrong, lol, but he is naming letters), or points them out when he sees them on signs or books. I can take no credit for this, except for putting the letters on the wall well before he was even born.
That she can put her own shoes on! She loves to pick out the shoes she wants to wear and puts them on. I still have to help with socks but she loves trying to get those on.

@aylafsu88: I love that Riley can do this too! Although she gets sneaky and will switch them in the car so I freak out and think that I put them on her wrong when really she did it herself.
Anna just figured this out too! I'm still amazed that she gets them on the correct feet
She also came up to me and kissed my belly and said "awwww" the other day. Melted my heart!
I'm getting small sentences and more communication.
The other day I was doing my make up and I heard a crash, followed by tiny feet stomping through the hallway to find me. She goes "Grapes! Fall Down!" I say the grapes fell? Shakes head yes. She leads me to the couch and starts crouching and pointing. Sure enough ONE grape fell under the couch. I had to lol. No uneaten grapes are to be left behind. Must.eat.all.the.grapes! But at the same time I thought whoa, I dont have a baby anymore.

@MissMusic - DS does the same thing! I'd go with the dead relative explanation, but he regularly talks on random items to random people (he'll use a playing card as a phone and talk to his aunt), so I figure he's just making an in-crib call
Oh and I show her too many J12 babies. @leilei she now runs around saying "I get you" and @lilahbean13 she says "toodalolaloo" lol

Zayne just learned to sign and say thank you, and says it at the appropriate times. He also uses it when he wants something he points and grunts and when I ask if he wants it he looks at me and says thank you.
@MissMusic: Random story but wanted to share after what you wrote above. I heard a story on the local radio station about a 2 year old who talks to her dead cousin (I think it was a cousin, definitely a family member) at night. It was caught on the monitor and I saw the video and you could hear the toddler saying the dead child's name. So creepy!! X_X
@summergirl1211 I read an article once about parents with kids who do this. They would have "imaginary" friends, see people, talk to people etc. usually it would be a deceased family member or someone that the knew which freaked the parents out. I really hope that LO never does this because I will probably crap my pants.

Isnt that kinda sorta Schizophrenia? There seems to be a fine line between imagination and the real deal. Damn you Oprah for ruining childhood imagination for me.

@Missmusic A couple times now, during meal times, Emma has looked up at the ceiling by the pendant light and held out her hand like offering food. I ask her what she sees and she says "Boo!" (which sounds like the spanish word for owl - buho) She's probably just seeing an owl the way the pendant light is shaped but I won't lie that I haven't thought of her seeing "someone".
Both can do puzzles now. Liam is putting 2-3 words together and Emma is using two words more and more now. They finally say yes. They know and say each other's version of their names "Ah-yah"=Emma, "Ma" + stick tongue out = Liam. It's so funny to me that they both say it the same way too. They also look out for each other. If one gets milk they make sure the other is getting milk too.
Frankie is finally starting to speak a little more. He's always pulling me to go "side", he could seriously live in a tent outside and be happy. He knows yellow and red and blue the rest he's just not interested in lol. Oh and the biggest thing he goes to bed by himself if hes tired he'll give us a kiss and say night night and put himself in bed. He's sleeping in minutes as long as we tuck him in. This just started a few days ago.
How far all these babies have come! They all sound so fun. Mine has started trying to count to 10. Always misses 1 and 5 though Rather useless, but she'll also tell you one object that starts with the letters of the alphabet up to J. She's just learnt the word "happy" and it's the neatest thing so far as she'll tell you through the day what makes her happy. If H has been away for a while and comes home, she'll run over, grin, and announce "happy!" Switch on her wind up teddy bear lamp that plays "It's a small world" and she's "happy." Give her a sausage and she'll tell you she's "happy" with her mouth full. She's also started pointing to planes and saying "plane missing!"

That's some pretty amazing coordination she has there!
This morning I got "Cooper loves you". I was a giant puddle on the floor! He has been telling stories lately. His favorite is about how we went to the vet. (last week) "Pooper(cooper) Kuma geegee jeep" me: where did we take the dogs? C: mommy work...AMMA! (Alma- the vet) me: What did Alma do with the dogs? C: chech up...Kuma poop jeep. Me: yeah, I know, Kuma pooped in the Jeep. Let's move on.

* he's finally started his "word burst" - he went from a handful of words to like 10 new words a day, and he's constantly surprising us with words.
* he's a gross-motor master. He's constantly hopping and walking backwards. He does some somersaults, too. He climbs into his high chair and climbs onto the table any chance he gets. I need to get this kid to gymnastics already.
* he's very concerned with baby brother and loves to help take care of him. He's such a love with him that it melts my heart.
She give hugs and kisses all the time . Her language is really exploding - new words every day. She really loves her friends and is really getting good at sharing. She's really improving on gross motor skills - really working on climbing/jumping/etc.
She strikes me every day with her creativity. She's always coming up with new silly games to play and it's just amazing to me that she thinks up freaking games to play! Where is my baby???
Charlie has been trying to skip when we're walking, it's awful cute. She's also started climbing into her own bed when I say time to go to bed, and then we usually sing twinkle twinkle little start after she's in bed and last night she started singing it all by herself. And as I get near the end she says "Bye bye" and does her kissy noise. I was very proud the other day I got complimented on how well she does with forks at a restaurant. And I'll stop myself there. :-)

the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world
event.
Oh, one more thing and then I'll stop. Daycare has commented on how she holds her crayons or pens like a big kid already, and that she's doing smaller scribbles instead of the big ones. Her teacher said that's a pre-cursor to writing, which is funny because she doesn't even really talk yet.

Ohh interesting! Emma is doing smaller scribbles now too. She even tries to scribble within the lines. If she's anything like me, she'll be a coloring pro by kindergarten
