Are your kids interested in other kids?

DS doesn't really see kids his own size as people yet. A two year old came up to him at the park and said "Hi baby!" and DS just walked away. But show him older kids, like 6 or 7 years old, and he follows them around like they're superheroes. Do your kids enjoy playing with kids their own ages yet?

    Elena isn't really interested in kids her own age. She likes babies and gets excited when she sees one. She also loves following the older kids. When we have play dates with her little friend that's her age she prefers to play by herself.

    Yes. But she is very social. Very much the opposite of me and very much like her dad. She will walk up to a bunch of kids playing at the park and just jump right in. At Gymboree she also gravitates towards her favorites. There are a few girls that have been going for a while and they all play around each other a lot. Maybe its a girl thing? I dont notice the boys at gymbroee doing that yet. They seem more oblivious.

    Zayne gets excited about other toddlers in the grocery store and will obsessively wave and say hi to them. When he gets a chance to play with kids his age he generally does his own thing and ignores them.

    Older kids on the other hand he will play with for hours!

    LO like all kids. She will walk up to any group/individual to see what they are doing at the park. She prefers the slightly older kids and will follow them around more than the younger/her age kids. Sometimes it is hard to get her to leave them alone!

    Yup. She loves the other kids at Gymboree and is partial to a couple of them. She also loves another little girl we do lots of playdated with and gets so excited when I tell her we are going to see her friend. She's started to try and interact a lot more with them too, hugs and sharing toys etc.

    @missmusic and @emilypc - Anna calls all people under the age of 18 "baby!" too :) 

    She is definitely interested in other kids - will point them out and watch them really intently, but she doesn't really approach them. At the library, she loves to watch the other kids play but she is pretty content to play by herself.

    Charlie is when it comes to daycare, whenever I'm there she's either watching what the other kids are doing or running around with one of them. We got a report when she came home the other day that she was holding hands with other kids and walking around the room, so I'll take that as a good sign.

    Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.

    @KarmB‌ that was pretty dick of that guy. She's a little kid and being sweet. If that little boy was Tommy I would think it's adorable.
    @fishybride82 I found it adorable but the guy made me feel like she was being slutty.
