One & Done: Only child

If you had an hour or two...

If you had an hour or two to go downton without a kid, what would you do?

I'm leaving DD with the grandparents and will have some time alone. I can window shop, hang out in cafes, or visit art galleries. There is a park nearby too, but it's still cold. I think it's too short notice to meet up with a friend, so I'll be going solo.

I'm tempted to bring a book and chill out with some coffee.

Go shopping for some new clothes! I hate trying stuff on when I have DS because he becomes impatient. It would also be nice to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and read a book. I don't get to do either very often!

I would but it's just Tommy H or expensive boutiques. I want to look for a nice suit jacket, but don't want to pay a whole ton. I might still go "just to look." Haha!

I second shopping as well. I rarely have time to go shopping on my own. I like to take my time and actually browse and try stuff on.

    Enjoy.

  • I would TOTALLY go to a cafe or coffee shop with a book or my kindle and chill. Ahhhh.

  • I hate window shopping (early fffc).  So I'd go with heading to a cafe with a book.

I'm torn on that. I love it and hate it. I have poor self-control when it comes to shopping. Then I get shopper's remorse. I do love scoring a bargain. But if it's not something I really need, is it still a bargain? Debatable...

Yes this was my thought exactly. Get a coffee a nice treat you don't have to share and read or browse pinterest!

  • GO GET A PEDICURE!!
  • Can I go to a bar and bring my kindle? A nice glass of wine and some reading would be nice.

I like the way you think...there is a nice wine/martini bar open for lunch but I'm a lightweight and would need a ride home.

  • Totally book and coffee shop or cafe. Or bench outside if the weather cooperates! Bench bonus: people watching.

  • I'd go take a yoga class, because I hardly ever get to.

  • Thanks, ladies! I ended up buying a navy polka dot jacket/blazer at Tommy H, a pink argyle sweater and teal slacks. I'm so going to wear the polka dot jacket to a future interview. But yeah, so much for "window shopping."

Then I went to a couple of art galleries and to a cafe with my book. I couldn't concentrate for too long, but it was nice anyway. They were playing Dave Matthews. It brought me back.

Then on my way back to the car a tiny puppy escaped a store that was being painted. It was a 6 week golden retriever puppy. I got to pet him and it was the best thing ever. Maybe we'll just get another puppy one day instead of trying for a second baby. They sure get potty trained faster. Lol
