My SIL has been bragging on her ergo. I tried it on & it fit good. She also loves the moby wrap. My niece is 5 months old right now & she uses both for different occasions.
What about a Becco? I was going to get an Ergo with the newborn insert, but my BFF said that I should go for the Becco instead. Any of you have experience with this carrier?
I love my Baby Ktan especially since last time I had 2 other toddlers and it was easy & fast to put on, very comfortable and secure. I loved the different options to wear it and got tons of use out of it.
I had the Moby and hated it. After that I got the Baby Bjorn and liked it when she was little but once she hit 4/5 months it really hurt my back. After that I just stopped baby wearing for the most part. I think I will get the Ergo this time so I can wear the baby while chasing around my toddler. I know a lot of people who have it and love it!
Since it'll be a million degrees in July I got a gauze wrap to get us through the worst of the heat. I'd like a linen ring sling as well and DH wants something Ergo-like. I'm going to visit a baby wearing group that has a lending library so we can decide what would be best for us.

I have a becco. I love it. I also have moby and a K'Tan breeze. I like the K'Tan more just for ease of use. The becco is awesome once they are bigger.
Anyone done research on the new bjorn one?? It now has zip options that meets hip standards for the baby, carriers front facing and out facing, and a breathable mesh between you and the baby which helps with the temperature issue of the ergo. Any thoughts?

If you are looking for a SSC, then I would recommend a Kinderpack. It's much more comfortable than an Ergo and has much "cuter" designs. Stay away from ANYTHING BJORN or crotch dangly!
I have a moby, ring sling and a Boba Air. I am obsessed with my Boba. It is super light weight so wearing it in the summer isn't unbearable. It fold up into its own pocket so I can be thrown into the diaper bag. I am a fatty magoo and the waist band is big enough that I didn't have to get a waist extender. And it is super cheap!
Beco Gemini and a k'tan the beco is way easier to put on if you don't have help because you can cross the straps when doing a front carry.
I had an ergo first but couldn't wear DD unless someone was around to do the clip that keeps the straps together. The straps would start to slip off my shoulders. I would also skip the beco because you can't do a side carry and I found that to often be the best carry for us, DD wanted to be able to see both my face and 'talk' with me, but also see the world around us.
For the newborn stage I loved the k'tan, I found the moby to look too intimidating and didn't like the idea of that much fabric to deal with. I loved the extra support of the sash too. I plan to get a breeze for this baby if I get too warm it the regular. At this point I am also looking at the Beco Soleil so I can wear both kids if I need to.

I have an ergo and baby bjorn from DS (interested in the new bjorn mentioned above, may look into that). However, DS was really really NOT into babywearing. Did not like it one bit. We will see if baby brother feels any differently.
I have a Moby and used it some, but wasn't a big fan. We have an Ergo and still use it now. DH carries DD to daycare in it everyday in the winter. We have the Ergo Sport and it's warm, but not too hot in the summer. Don't buy a Bjorn. They're bad for baby and super uncomfortable. I got a ring sling for the newborn phase for this one. I could never figure out how to nurse in the Ergo and heard it's easier with a ring sling.
BFP#2 7/3/13. U/S at 6w4d showed 1 heartbeat at 127 bmp and 2 empty sacs. MMC discovered at 10w4d. D&C 8/27/13. Pathology showed normal boy. Missing our babies every day. BFP#3 10/29/13! Beta#1 at 4w5d - 2141, beta#2 at 5w1d - 7651! U/S 11/21/13 showed baby measuring 2 days ahead with a heartbeat of 127 bmp!
I have two ring sings (one linen and one silk) and an Ergo. I love my ring slings for little baby stage and for last minute runs. I think the last time I used my ring sling was for parent teacher conferences in Feb with DD who is now 3 (and fell asleep).
I love the Ergo for planned long days like traveling, the zoo, hiking etc. where we will be walking for extended periods of time.

This seems like kind of a misleading statement since a pp already specifically mentioned there is at least one out that meets hip requirements(i.e. complies with the recommendations of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute). Just thought I'd point this out for any newer moms who may not follow along. You're entitled to your opinion but to say unequivocally they are all bad for baby, while perhaps well-intentioned, might be misinformed.
DH and I both liked using the Moby with DS, so we'll stick with that again. It seems like it will be hot in the summer, but I can't see spending money on something else right now when we already have that.
I have a Sleepy Wrap from DD (similar to a Moby but stretchy so it's more forgiving with the tying) that I will reuse, but I'd also like to get an Ergo and a Maya Wrap (a Ring Sling style wrap) for this baby since I'm going to be wearing him more than I wore DD.
I've been trying to decide between the ergo and new boba... I think the boba will be better for the summer over the ergo infant insert. Anyone have any experience with the boba?

I have the Beco Gemini and regularly used the hip carry position with my daughter when she was around 8-12 months. Check out the online tutorials to see how.
I loved my Beco even when DD2 was a newborn and used it until she asked to walk or run instead. I also had a Moby. I loved the fit and style, but hated the tying, so I will get a Baby K'Tan this time around- some basic style without the extra fabric to tie and loop.
I'm planning on selling my Moby and getting a K'Tan instead...any recs on whether I should get the regular or the Breeze? It'll only really be hot here for about a month after LO is born so I'm leaning towards the regular but wanted some input anyway if anyone has any.

This is my plan too. I went ahead and bought the regular K'Tan on Ebay because I got it for like $22 from a girl who barely used it. That's why I didn't get the breeze.

I love my regular Ktan. I used it last summer a lot with my 6 month old and it was a pretty hot summer and neither of us felt overheated. It's a very comfortable wrap.
I was looking into the Boba and the Sakura Blossom Ring Sling. I'm worried because it will be between the 90s and 100s after I have the baby. I found a few stores on ETSY that make a wrap and sling out of gauze fabric. I'm thinking of trying them out. They'll be cooler and they're cheaper.
