Traveling in third trimester

Hi everyone -- quick question on mom's who have traveled during their third tri. I have already spoke to my dr, but I wanted to get your opinion. My cousins wedding is in CA that I had planned to go to. I will be 34 weeks when we have our trip planned. Has anyone flown/traveled that late in their pregnancy? If you did, how was it? It would be around a 4-5 hour flight plus travel time obviously.

    Check with your airline -- some have restrictions on travel.  I THINK most are 36 weeks, but some might be 34, and you may need a letter from your doctor saying that you are healthy to fly.

    Personally, at 34 weeks I probably could have done it, but it would have been a challenge.  Are you going by yourself or is someone going with you?  Make sure you give yourself a LOT of time to get through the airport -- even short walks can take a lot out of you.  Wear really comfy non-restrictive clothing, get up and walk a lot, drink tons of water....

    Not done the plane thing but I have a cross country road trip next week (moving, no choice with timing) I am 32 weeks. Just remember to drink lots of water, pee lots and stay comfy. Most places you can bring an empty water bottle and then fill it up past security. Dress in layers as planes can get kinda chilly, I am a huge fan of sweatpants/yoga pants for travel espicaly now I don't want anything pushin against the bump. Also try I get up and stretch your legs out, most flight attendants will try to help you stay happy.
    If you are traveling with your SO have them help with bags and such
    Also keep on eye for swelling and if you don't feel well make sure you get yourself checked out.

    I am flying tomorrow and I'm 31 weeks. I've flown twice this pregnancy so far. I just made sure to bring snacks and stretch a lot! My doctors office doesn't want me flying past 34 weeks.

    I would check with the airline policy though. I was lookin yesterday at mine and saw that some airlines do require a doctors note at a certain point, they are all different.

    Thank you all for your advice -- This is my second baby and I only flew in the beginning of the second trimester last time so I wasn't as concerned as I am with this trip. I checked all airlines to make sure if we do book one to get a dr note. My husband and immediate family will be all going with me so I will definitely have the help! Thank you all for your advice! Much appreciated!
