Diaper rash

My DS has been pooping 3-5 times a day the past week and has horrible diaper rash! Anyone have suggestions on how to clear it up fast? Also, is that normal for him to go that much?? Thanks!!

    Sounds like teething poop. Not fun.
    I've used multiple brands of zinc oxide diaper rash creams - doesn't seem to matter which one I use, as long as it's the maximum strength 40% zinc oxide. I will say the purple Desitin seems thicker than the generic, and Bordeaux's Butt Paste is the least smelly. 
    Lots of diaper free time to dry things out, and baking soda baths too.

    I use Aquaphor for diaper rash and it works wonders!  I also like the Bordeaux's Butt Paste for overnight, if I use that it's usually cleared up overnight.

    How do you keep your kids from peeing all over when you have diaper free time?  Everytime I have Morgan out of her diaper she ends up peeing within 1-2 minutes of having it off.  I have a lot of peed on towels now :)

    This plus baking soda bath. If it's really bad you can get an rx.

    Great! Thank you!! I will try the diaper free time tomorrow. I was having the same wonders about peeing on the floor but I will limit him to a space!! I've been trying the Aquaphor this afternoon and tonight so hopefully this will help. How long do you think I should wait if it's not cleared up to take him to the dr?

    How much baking soda do you put in the baths and is there an amount of time to leave them in?

    If he is going 3-5 times a day, I would be more concerned about dehydration. Is it diarrhea or formed? If it is formed then thats ok, he just goes a lot. If diarrhea, you might want to stick to the B.R.A.T. (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast) and up his fluids. 

    ETA- keep an eye on the rash to make sure its not yeast which can seem like a stubborn diaper rash.
