Hi I'm six weeks pregnant with twins post IVF and started spotting lightly. Have any of you has the same experience? My fertility specialist says it's nothing to worry about, but I'm quite nervous.
I had spotting around that time as well. It was implantation spotting I guess. Everything was fine. As long as it's just light spotting and not bright red it should be fine.
It's probably nothing, spotting is pretty normal in pregnancy. If it's not gushing or bright red try not to worry. I know that's just about impossible after an IVF cycle but chances are you will be just fine- hold onto that. Good luck momma.
It's scary. I had miscarriages after I had spotted but spotting lead to blood n clots. I also have had spotting w no major explanation and had successful pregnancy. Water, feet up and listen to your body and positive thoughts all go a long way. Good luck.
I was going to ask about vaginal progesterone too but looks like someone beat me to it. No additional advice but wanted to wish you good luck! Thinking good thoughts for you.
I bleed off and on for 2 weeks. Sometimes it was bright red even. It is very scary, but can occur and things turn out ok. My twins are 8 now. Hang in there and I hope all is well.
I've bled three times during my pregnancy. Once around 6 weeks, once after a vaginal ultrasound exam at 16 weeks, and once last at 30 weeks. The first time I spotted but the other two were gushes. Nothing has been wrong with my girls so far so it seems I just have a sensitive cervix or something. It's always good to check with your doctor but try not to freak out!
I bled at 6 weeks 3 days pregnant.... bright red and passed a golf ball sized clot. Went to the ER (big mistake!) and saw one beating heart and another sac....at my next ultrasound a couple days later we had two healthy babies/heart beats. I bled through my whole first trimester. It was basically just brown spotting though after the initial bleed. I had a SCH. However, the SCH did not show up on the first two ultrasounds (even though I was bleeding). It didn't show up until my 8 week ultrasound.
Anyways, I didn't have any bedrest (even during the bleeding )and carried my twins to 38 weeks no problem. My RE said bleeding is very common in IVF pregnancies and usually nothing to worry about it!
Good luck, I know it's so nervewracking to see the blood though!
I am pregnant with twins via IVF as well! I had some bleeding last week, which was week7. I was worried sick too, went in for an ultrasound the day after and the babies were fine. I'll confirm tomorrow again with another ultrasound.
My doctor also said it's normal 1) for twin pregnancy as the uterus is getting stretched more than a singleton 2) with IVF because of the pathway the catheter made during transfer, blood can come out that way. Hope it's nothing for both of us!
I had pink spotting right before 6w, but didn't find out about twins until 2 weeks later. I'm 14 weeks now, and they're still in there bouncing around. I've also had spotting that signaled a problem with other pregnancies.
Call your OB if you're worried. That's why they're there.
