I am at a loss on how to get my 18mo DS to use a regular cup. Every time I give him a cup he does 1 of 2 things. He either picks it up and shakes it up and down as hard as he can, or he actually tries to drink but tips the cup completely upright. Neither of these really work for successful drinking. If I try to help show him how to hold the cup right, he either gets mad and yells at me for not letting him do it, or he just lets go and makes me completely take over. I don't know what else to do. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
Re: Using a "big boy" cup
Mine is only one but I am thinking about keeping him in a straw cup(which he is in now and loves) until he is about 3 or 4 that way are place to eat he can still drink out of a cup and not make a mess and at 3 and 4 they know better. BUT this is just me
