I know it's all hokum but I was just curious what you have been told by friends/family/strangers is the reason they think you are having a boy/girl. A woman my DH works with right now told him if I'm not throwing up it's a boy. My dad told me that if I get ugly it's a girl (thanks dad). He was positive that's the fool proof way to tell because it happened to my mom, one person out of the billions that live on this planet LOL! Just wondering what crazy things you have been told.

I've been told by one coworker that she thinks I'm having a boy because everyone seems to be having girls right now and that means that it has to turn around to boys being born soon. So, yeah... solid reasoning there.

Another coworker told me she thought it was a boy because I'm carrying like it's a boy. I'm still not showing now, and this was three weeks ago. So I guess I carry my fat in a way that suggests boy.

I heard the same as @tigger99 I have awful aversions to meat right now so it's "obviously" a girl, I am also breaking out horrifically, and I've been introduced to bacne (eww).

But I've also been told that since my feet are always cold, I'm having a boy.

But 9/10 people I talk to are 100% convinced it's a girl. Hopefully I'll find out for sure next week!

Mine too, even pre pregnancy. I don't pay much attention to the wives tales, though they can be fun. I don't take them to heart.

Everyone except DH and my sis think girl. Reasons being high heart rate, the 'angle of the dangle', because I hate sweets but am craving them now, because I am a princess so of course I am growing one (courtesy of my grandpa). Four more weeks until we hopefully find out!

When I was pregnant with DS I was told I was having a girl because I was throwing up constantly. There were some food craving predictions but I don't remember them. But once I started showing everyone, and I mean EVERYONE...family, friends, strangers said I was having a boy based on how I carried him. I didn't find out until he was born so I annoyed quite a few strangers who wanted to know if they were right.

This pregnancy I've been told I'm having a girl based on LO's high heartbeat.

The one person who always guesses for me (she works in the cafe where I get my morning coffee) told me she thinks it's a boy. But last time she was positive I was having a boy, too. So when she told me that yesterday, I reminded her she was wrong last time.

But she's sweet and I think she means it as a compliment? She told me if you carry just in your belly and not your rear, then it's a boy. So when she says boy, I just say thanks lol.

Everyone guessed girl for me and they were right! Mil insisted she already knew bc my face was fuller. I thought girl bc of the higher heartbeat. I had no m/s and no crazy cravings except I like lemon and honey mustard more than normal.

I heard a lot of things to point me in one direction or another. I thought all "signs" pointed to a girl, but I was wrong. The one I really based it on was the ovulating several days after intercourse, as I figured that was the closest to any kind of scientific estimate as I would get from these tales. After I found out LO is a boy, I went back and looked at all the OWT and discovered they were about 50/50 - So I think it's pretty much all crap.

No morning sickness: BOY

Stealing mother's beauty (I had some pretty rough skin at first): GIRL

Ovulated several days after intercourse: GIRL

Chinese Calendar: BOY

Craving proteins rather than sweets: BOY

Necklace/Pendant Swinging test: GIRL

OH! And my boss who claims to have psychic tendencies, and who has never been wrong about the sex before on anyone else said it was a GIRL. He was definitely wrong - so I guess there is a first time for everything.

DH's family was convinced I'm having a girl (wishful thinking as there are lots of boys in his family). DH and I have felt boy, and a majority of my symptoms point to boy, except I have worse acne and now all-over acne (I blame DH because all his family has terrible skin issues with zits). My MIL changed her mind when I started craving salty and spicy foods. Found out on Saturday that it's a boy!

I've been told it's positively a girl because of the high heart rate, my cravings of everything sour, and my acne, weight loss, and paleness (anemia). She's obviously stealing my beauty lol

We don't find out until April 1, but my gut says it's a boy.

I hate the M/S theory one. I haven't had much so pple say boy. BUT my Mom had even less M/S than I did for ALL of her pregnancies and had both boys and girls. Where my aunt had horrible morning sickness with all of her pregnancies and also had boys and girls.

When I was pregnant with DD she had low heartbeat, which is suppose to mean boy, I couldn't eat, smell or look at meat, amazing skin, no morning sickness but nausea on steroids, I prayed to throw up so I could feel better and it never happened. I did crave sweets, and had cold feet but my feet were always cold, Chinese gender chart said girl and the ring test was girl and boobs were soooo sore. This time is completely different, I threw up one time, no nausea, no ms, no food aversions, except coffee ugh I can't look at it, drink it, or smell it. No cramps, no sore boobs, no symptoms for 4 weeks, craving sweets, and horrible skin and baby has high heartbeat. I want a boy but so convinced I'm having a girl.

One of my coworkers said she thought it was a girl since I was feeling so crappy and throwing up in the middle of the night. "I can tell because she's already being a major bitch." Gee, thanks.
And another friend said girl because she asked if my leg hair was growing faster and I said no. My facial hair on the other hand...
They were both right...but I'm pretty sure they were just lucky.

-All day sickness

-Acne breakouts

-Heart BPM 181

and the most interesting one - my sister texted me and told me to point to my nose or my mouth. I think I said mouth, and she said it's a girl. Not sure where that one came from; I have been meaning to Google it.

I've heard that if you crave sweets, including fruit, then you are having a girl. In that case I really am having a girl.

Yeah Ive heard them all

Most poplular ones I think are the Heartbeat over 150 Girl, Stealing Beauty Girl, No morning sickness Boy etc.

For me I honestly havent had many symptoms at all so its hard to guess.
•I have had no morning sickness. In fact Ive only felt queasy maybe 20 times the entire pregnancy
• I have not had acne...actually my husband told me yesterday that my face looks different, that I have that glow and happiness that everyone talks about
• I havent had food aversions or cravings at all
• Havent gained weight, Ive actually lost a bit
• My babies heart rate at 8 weeks was 142, at 12 weeks was 172
• Im carrying my baby high, dr says my uterus is higher than most pregnant women she encounters at this stage of the game.

Its all a guessing game! We ALL thought my sister was having a boy the entire time, she had a girl. My co worker is 20 weeks, and I thought for sure she was having a girl...she found out yesterday...its a boy.

Everyone in my family thinks its going to be a boy, we'll see in Sept!

According to the Chinese chart and the needle/thread test we're having a girl (which is what we're hoping for). I was nauseated but never actually threw up (except the one time I stuck my finger down my throat to see if that would at least make me feel better... it didn't). I've had a few cravings, but nothing lasted that long (ranging from ribs to pickles to gummy bears). I still can't stand the smell of bacon cooking. I am breaking out more

So I dunno...

What is considered a high heartbeat? so far it's always been in the 150s

Almost everyone guessed boy the first time (we were Team Green) based on how I looked. I was carrying low the whole time. DH's aunt said girl in the beginning because my "face looked fuller" (gee thanks) but then switched her vote to boy later on.

I had a girl, so they were all wrong (including me. I had a strong feeling she was a boy, not really based on anything specific).

This time most people are saying boy because I wasn't as sick in first tri as I was with DD. DH "knows" it's another girl but he can't tell me any specific reason why he thinks that, so I think he's just full of baloney

Last pregnancy and this pregnancy are almost identical except last time my symptoms were doubled. I felt girl last time (I have Identical twin girls) and this time my NT scan tech guessed Boy. My symptoms all point to girl including my chinese gender chart prediction.

MS- girl
Horrible complexion- girl
Cravings: sweet things- girl
HB- girl (higher than 140)
Meat averison- girl (I try to force myself to eat meat for protein)

Everyone I know is hoping for a boy for us. So that's what most of DH's family that know are guessing. My friends are all saying girl bc of Karma with DH haha. I guess we will see at the end of april/beginning of May

I know everyone says heartbeat and the way you carry is suppose to tell you but with my first, her heartbeat was 140s and I carried in the middle like a basketball not a watermelon and not high either. I personally wouldn't go by either one of those.

I've only had one person guess boy, everyone else (including myself) have guessed girl. For no reason really. Most of the guesses have come from friends and family out of state that haven't seen me since Christmas, before this LO was conceived. I don't give much credit to OWTs but we'll see if any of them are right with this baby. We'll hopefully find out next month.

My DOCTOR has started calling my baby "he" because the heart rate "sounds like a boy.". Thought that was an OWT?

Oh and with my son everybody told me it was a girl because I was carrying high...one lady even argued with me after my u/s, haha.

3 different people told me boy because the heart rate is 146 bpm.

Girl because I've been nauteous every day and I've had lots of sweet cravings.

I guess we'll see in a few weeks!

My sister thinks it's a girl for no particular reason
I know a lot of people claim they get feelings of it's a boy or a girl, but I think it's just wishful thinking. As far as I can tell, it's 50/50 and none of these signs or symptoms seem to have any reliability in gender prediction. DH and are both analytical people who love math and neither of us believe we will "feel" that the baby's a particular gender. It's a guess and 50% chance you're wrong. We will be happy with either and have decided we are team green so it will be interesting hearing what everyone else "predicts" for 5+ months. :-)
