3 weeks PP and I'm fairly sure I started my period today. I'm EBFing which I thought would hold it off. I don't think it's PP discharge as I had a section and haven't had any bleeding since the first week.
Grrrrrrr....
Mother Nature is a bitch. I'm 5 weeks PP and was gifted with my period this morning. I'm pumping and thought for sure I still had some time before it came back.
Mine went away for a few days then came back yesterday with a vengeance. I thought I may have started my period, which would be crazy early, but the nurse at my OB office said it's totally normal for it to stop then start again. It's gross...pads are gross...I'm gross!!!
My PP bleeding lasted two weeks and I got my full first period at five. Also ebf. The first two days were so bad I had to steal a couple over night diapers from DS1.

Yup. Breast feeding is not a way to guaranteed contraception. Even if NOT supplementing.
And yes, you can get a period while EBF. And yes, you are fertile before that period.
I EBF DS1 every 2-3 hours and got my one and only pp period when he was almost 6 months old. And he was not STTN. So, don't think frequency of feeding means a whole lot either.
Happened with my last LO at about 6 weeks when I was EBF. My midwife told me it was still PP bleeding caused by hormonal changes post-pregnancy and not really AF. It is very common. My AF showed up for real at 7 months.
