Easter baskets

We didn't get an Easter basket last year for Quinn and I'd like to order one this year. Any recommendations? I'm not sure I want to drop $50 on a Pottery Barn one. I have 15% off to PB so that helps a little and they ARE really cute. Any one have a basket they got from somewhere else that they love? Pics would be awesome too! Thanks!

  • I got T's at Target... I am sure he could care less about the basket, he will be more interested in the contents ;)

  • I should say I'm hoping to get one that we use every year for the rest of her LIFE! So I see $50 spread out over so many years to justify it. I don't have a target nearby so online buying is a plus! Thanks ladies!!

FFWC: I go on Etsy and then I copy things that I know I can make myself.

I made this for Nancy last year almost exactly, except hers has little flowers on it and the writing is scripty.  I bought a tub at the dollar store and then decorated it with the vinyl.  In case you're crafty, it's super easy to make. :-)  Otherwise, I love this seller's stuff because they're reusable and reasonably priced.

  • I ordered one of these for M&M. My SIL's friend sells them on EBay

  • I bought baskets at a craft store and then decorated them myself (and I'm not particularly crafty). fabric liner, ribbon, sticky felt letters for names and a few fabric bunny stickers. Voila.

  • My MIL got the kids Easter baskets from mileskimball.com.  They are cute and personalized..and cheap ($10)...but they might not be practical depending on how much you want to put in them.

  • B's is from Leelynn Crafts from Etsy. I bought the liner and then the basket from Hobby Lobby. I love the way it turned out. I also bought 1 extra basket for #2 whenever that happens. That way they match but will have seperate liners.

@alicia_nr You can fit SO much stuff in the bigger one, I'm actually going to have the opposite problem where I'm going to have to buy about 3 bags of grass to fill it in, or else it's going to look empty...

I glued some ribbon around a metal paint bucket from Home Depot. It costs about $2 and we use them year round for different things (carrying around cars, storing small toys, bean bag toss...) I do think I will get them something a little bigger when they are bigger and more into Easter Egg hunts.

Madelyn's liner is from her too, love them! So cute :) I miss them at that age.
I had to dig for this picture and it made me so sad how small he was. Chunky, but small none the less. I love our basket and got the larger one to accomodate as he gets older. I always seem to go overboard with holidays. I'm not sure how I'm going to fit all of the stuff in it this year. Oops!

When I do buy something bigger, I think I am going to get a vintage wire egg basket and do a burlap liner.

We have one from Personal Creations. I ate all the free candy from last year and filled it with age appropriate stuff. We'll be using the same basket this year with grass from Tarjay.

Since our basket is big enough for Kate to sit inside of...I also got one of these (except her's is a duckie) at the Target Dollar Stop. It's small and holds about 6 or 7 Easter eggs. Perfect for her to carry during the "hunt"

  • I had made Charlotte a trick or treat basket to math her Tinkerbell costume so I plan to use that for her Easter basket this year. It's green and pink with flowers on it.

@cheenomae! What an amazing gift from your grandparents. I love when things have a sentimental meaning with them!

We don't but easter baskets. We make nests out of jammies, so the easter bunny can get your scent and know what to give whichever kid.

@juliane2004, you're going to have to explain this to me.  Is this a family thing?  A church thing?  I've never heard of this.

    @MarisaKathleen

Family tradition from my side (not LDS / Mormon). My mom always had me and my siblings make nests, and she explained it as that was how the easter bunny knew who was who.
