My first child was born in winter, so only a few things will work for a west-coast summer. With #1 I was working, so I had bought a lot of work maternity clothes. Now, as a SAHM, I doubt I'll need a lot....
What types of maternity clothes do you think you'll buy to keep cool in the summer months? I assume Tees, tanks, cardigans (non maternity), and maybe a pair of jeans. Bathing suit... Maybe a skirt?

I think for my birthday next month, I might ask my mom to take me shopping for one or two nice maternity dresses for work, and a new pair of black flats that I can wear at work all summer. The Motherhood section at Macy's had a couple of dresses that I liked the other day, and the flats I have at work now are from the summer I was pregnant with DD and are starting to look kind of ratty.
I had my son in August so most of my maternity clothes are summer friendly. With him I lived in maternity shorts and maternity tees/tanks. For me maxi dresses were like a blanket that trapped all the heat in which just made me hot and sweaty
I was working from home mostly at that time so I could dress casual most days. Now I work full time in an office so I'm going to invest in some work-friendly knee-length maternity dresses. And then I can always wear them with maternity leggings this spring and towards the end when the weather gets cooler again.
Edit: Also a maternity swimsuit. I spent as much time as I possibly could in a pool or at the lake and I plan to do the same this summer!

I have been scoping out zulilly for work appropriate dresses as maxi dresses won't fly too well around here. Same goes for capris and shorts. I will need some maternity work pants and some decent tops. I am one of those people who hates to wear the same thing each week so this will be tough as I don't want to break the bank buying clothes.
We have a goodwill near the house. Maybe I should head over there!
A lot of my non-maternity tanks and shorts still fit and they worked fine for hanging around the house.
