Hospital Tour

My husband and I went on the hospital tour last night. It's getting real. I can't believe how fast it's going.

  • I've never gone on a hospital tour, mine doesn't allow them.
  • Really? I only knew from my OB. She told me about it.
  • we had ours this past weekend, included during a day-long childbirth class (it was a 8 hour day phew!)

I was so excited, I love our hospital, but it *was* very real, and doing it after the childbirth lessons and videos made my anxiety skyrocket and i cried a bit. It was very overwhelming. I'm trying to be strong for my baby girl so the labor will be easier, but I can't stop second-guessing myself and all that will happen!

Really glad we got to see it all though, it was really informative.

  • We went on our tour a couple of months ago.  I didn't like the tour guide since she gave the tour with a personal experience type of spin.  She talked a lot about her own birth story, but she gave birth over 20 years ago!  She talked a lot about getting your epidural and other pain medications, but didn't talk about the methods they have for natural births at all.
  • We went on ours a few weeks ago. We are canadians living in singapore. Well there is a huge difference in what we are getting. I just had my 28 week visit with my OB (who also happens to be canadian), we had a good talk about the expected differences in care. It's like we are giving birth in a 5 star hotel. This is pretty standard in care here, and all the hospitals have these amazing maternity wards. Our room has marble floors, silk bedding, bed for DH, minifridge, menu (with 5 choices one being western), a safe, a LED flatscreen..etc. It's pretty pimp. We are still in shock that this is what we are getting.
