Amelia Sage?

Because apparently there are no MNs that go with Alexandra Ward (seriously, we've been through dozens of MN options and neither one of us like the other's suggestions.) So it's back to the drawing board. Lucky me. :-L

DH suggested Amelia last night (NN Amy, which I don't like). So I suggested four more new names this morning and of the four, DH likes Amelia Sage.

I wish it had a better NN option, but what does everyone think?

I like it! Amelia Jane is a combo on my list, and it has a very similar sound. Amelia has other NN options like Mia and Lia, I've also heard Millie. But I actually kinda like Amy too!

I like Alexandra!! Amelia is nice but I don't like Sage. I can think of tons of MNs for Alexandra. Anne, Beth, Rose, Violet, Marie... I don't understand why you don't think anything works?

I like Amelia but hate Sage. Amelia is so pretty and feminine and classic. I don't think Sage goes with it at all. What other MNs were you considering?

I would use the nn Millie for Amelia.

Oh, I liked lots of names, but DH didn't like any of my suggestions. He vetoed: Monroe, Reese, Morgan, Kate, Paige, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Jane, Juliet, and Grace (among others, I'm sure). And his only suggestion was Eve, which I wasn't crazy about. Other names like Marie, Rose, etc. are fine, but NMS. So trust me, we've been through lots of names. Nothing stuck, though.

DH originally suggested Rose, but only b/c it "flowed well" (i.e. - just a filler name). I wasn't a fan. I suggested Jane, and he said no. I thought about Grace, but didn't actually suggest it.

The other names I suggested were not Amelia (Aria Grace, Olivia Piper, Norah Grace) and he only liked Amelia Sage.

I secretly hope the u/s was wrong and it's really a boy. I'm so tapped out on girl suggestions!

Personally, I think I'd let DH win the MN battle if I get the FN I like. Were all of his MN suggestions for Alexandra awful? Nothing wrong with Amelia though - Lia is a cute NN

Eve was the *only* middle name he suggested, lol!

We both really liked Alex, but I don't like Alexa and he doesn't like Alexis, so Alexandra was the only one left. And that came after a long battle of him vetoing every other FN I threw at him. We're just having the worst time coming to an agreement with this one (DD1 was easy to name!).

I think Sage is fine for the MN. Ideally, you guys should both love the name, but if you really like the fn and some of the nn suggestions, I might try to focus less on the middle name because it really doesn't come up that often. I understand you don't love Sage but it isn't a BAD name. Try to figure out if you can live with it. FTR I like Sage.

Actually, Sage was my suggestion to DH. So I was surprised that he liked it :-P. I like Amelia, just not his NN suggestion of Amy. But I totally understand your logic. I agree that the FN is more important for both of us to love. I actually just suggested Alexandra Sage to DH as well since we both really like Alex, and he seemed to like Sage.

I like something a little more classic and feminine paired with Amelia (Amelia Mae?), but I do like the name Amelia quite a bit.

I think that Elizabeth goes with Alexandra and I way prefer that name over Amelia.

also wanted to add that with Amelia Sage you are going to want to hope she never falls in love with a man with an S surname for her initials' sake.

We are naming ours Amelia and calling her Molly. Not an official nn but we love it
