Facial tic?

Several times a day C makes this strange face, he closes his eyes tightly, opens his mouth and kind of squinches up his face. It's very quick, like a facial tic. I haven't noticed that it correlates with anything but my husband thinks it happens more when he looks at bright lights. Anyway, it freaks me out. I mentioned to his ped and she isn't concerned at all. She said its likely that he's learning to use different facial muscles and will grow out of it but it's still scary. Does anyone else's LO do this?

    Oddly enough E does a similar thing. I was freaked out by it as well but I'm assuming it's completely normal. She hasn't done it for a week or so now.

    B went through two phases where he would do hard fast blinks. I was worried bc H does have facial tics and it runs in his family - all of his siblings had tics but he never outgrew them like his siblings did. He's still too young to know if he won't get them and will probably have more phases in the future, but right now he's not doing them.

    FWIW, on my off board several of the kids have gone through similar phases. I think it's completely normal as they are developing to go through them.
