Severe SPD, large baby and C section.

I'm looking to see if anyone has encountered this particular set of issues. I have been on bedrest and pain meds since about 31 weeks. Today I am 37. Baby is measuring ahead by two weeks at last ultrasound, and 6 weeks today via fundal height. Due to size and pelvic separation my midwife I recommending c-section to lessen chance of perm pelvic damage as well as shoulder dyastocia. I would love to hear some stories or experiences with this set of challenges if anyone can relate?! Thanks a ton!!

    I had a 10lb 7oz baby and extra fluid (and large placenta) so I also measured ahead. I had horrible SPD but I wasn't on rest until the last 4 weeks. Because of my son's size and especially because his shoulders/ body were measuring more than 5cm larger than his head my dr said he was at high risk for shoulder dystocia. While I didn't want a c/s, my husband and I decided that we didn't want to risk my son having nerve damage from the birth.
    He had some breathing problems because of his size and the fluid not getting pushed out during vaginal birth but it lasted a short time and we don't regret our decision because he is so healthy and strong! If you have any more questions you can message me too.

    edit:  Also, despite not having a vaginal birth. I had some pelvic floor damage just from the weight etc. I went to an amazing physical therapist that helped me greatly with that, SPD and diastasis recti.  There was a large gap in the front of my pelvis and my pelvis was totally misaligned. I had to work hard and do my exercises every day but everything went back to place and I could finally walk again! My split ab muscles even closed almost completely!

  • Got our date today! 3/28 she's coming. Was hoping they would put me out of my misery sooner but at least I know there is a definitive end in sight. Relieved but still trying to cope with nine more days of excruciating pain and staring at my walls all day. Hope you all are doing well and dealing with incapacity as crazy as it is! 8-}
