Spotting?

Hi! I haven't introduced myself here yet as this is the first time I'm visiting the board, I haven't even gone to the dr for my first visit yet. However I'm wondering if anyone has experienced spotting (in either this pregnancy or any previous)? This is my 4th pregnancy and I've never had spotting. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time since finding out I was pregnant and in the evening I had some dark brown residue when I went to the restroom. There is nothing transferring to my underwear, it's only when I wipe.

My dr visit is tomorrow, please assure me that this is normal and will go away and that baby is fine...when I told dh last night his comment was "so does that mean you're not pregnant?" Ugh...

I spotted dark brown and light pink from weeks 5-11 when I was pregnant with DS. He is a healthy 2yo.

I have also spotted this pregnancy, bright red blood! It's terrifying. I've had several ultrasounds, including a major one at a radiologist lab where they looked at everything very carefully to see if I had a hemorrhage or something. Bleeding is unexplained and baby seems fine for now, so now we just wait it out.

I have always heard that dark brown blood is old blood and not a cause for concern. You should call your doctor if you have bright red blood that soaks a pad, or clots, or severe cramping. You should also call your doctor if you're Rh-, in which case you'll need a rhogam shot.

I've spotted a lot during this pregnancy and every ultrasound the baby is fine and heartbeat is strong. But it's scary! FX you get good news!

Yes, I spotted a few days ago. Still in that waiting period, but likely will be fine. FX it's nothing.

I spotted around 5 weeks, and again at 7 weeks. Like you, it was brown and only when I wiped. It turned out fine.

If the blood turns red or becomes heavy enough to soak a pad in an hour, call your doc. Otherwise you're probably fine waiting until your visit tomorrow to mention it, since they can't do anything anyway.

I've been having red spotting for the past 2 weeks (on and off). So far so good, ultrasounds show baby is growing appropriately and has a good strong heartbeat! Stay positive

Spotting, especially brown discharge, is completely normal.

I had some spotting-light bleeding from 3 weeks (before I knew I was pregnant) til about 6 weeks. I had a SCH that resolved a week after they found it. It was harmless. I still occasionally have a little spotting. At least you don't have to worry long since your appointment is tomorrow. Good luck!

I spotted at 6 weeks and freaked out it was the darker colour previous people mentioned and then again last week (11 weeks) but went with one wipe and was more of a pinkish colour. I freaked out again and now I've had scans for both times and everything is fine. I always wondered cause I never got morning sickness maybe I just get silly bleeding every once and a while!? Win some ya loose some.

I had brown spotting with my first pregnancy around 5.5 weeks. Everything turned out fine. No other spotting with any other pregnancies though. Brown means old blood.

I had spotting with DS at 5w, 7.5w and 8.5 w and he's a happy healthy 15 mo. Good luck at your appointment!

Turns out everything is fine, I do have a small hemorrhage (it sounds worse than it is), the us tech explained it more like a bruise. She said it's so small that it will not pose any threat to the baby, however they will continue to measure it if they can see it on an u/s. He assured me that with Folic Acid and the Vitamin B12 he prescribed it should absorb in a couple of weeks. I have another scan at my next appointment in 4 weeks so we'll see what it looks like then.

Hi I had tht happen to me and i had a dctrs appt and asked her she said its very normal to be spotting.. You will be fine
