Anyone still EP'ing?

I am so beyond done EP'ing. Looking for words of encouragement or to know others are in the same boat. Before going back to work at the start of February, I was getting 26-28 oz per day. Now back to work supply is falling. Pumping sessions at work are only 15-20 minutes instead of the 30 I was doing while at home. I am still pumping in the MOTN. It used to be my best pump at 6oz, but now I am lucky to get 4. I am tired and aggravated. Ugh. Sorry for the rant. Done now. Thanks!
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.

Re: Anyone still EP'ing?

  • So I'm still exclusively pumping and man is it draining!! I just can't wait to be done! I'm not waking up in the motn but I'm still exhaused of it!! I'm ready to have my lunch breaks back, and ready so I don't have to get up so early and pump before work! And I'm a recptionist and so I always have to have someone to cover for me when I go and pump at work so it's just beyond annoying! I'm so ready to be done but also think I'm saving money doing it this way instead is formula so that's what's keeping me going!! Hugs!! I know it's hard!!

  • :( that sucks!! Are you thinking of introducing formula or trying bf again? I tried some formula for the first time today, he hated it. Complete refusal. Granted its nurtimagen hypoallergenic formula which smells and tastes disgusting, but I even tried mixing 1 oz formula with 3 oz breastmilk and he still refused. I am going to try again tonight and get DH to try feeding him and possibly add another ounce of bm to dilute it even more. Anyway, I don't know how you ep'ers do it...it is a huge commitment and I think 4 months is amazing to make it that far.
  • I am still pumping 4 times a day and somehow maintaining my supply. It's dropped to 35-40oz per day, and I know that's still more than baby needs. It's exhausting at times, but then I think of the money I'm not having to spend and then it gets put back in perspective. :-)

  • I'm still EPing, but I'm getting worn out. I really want to quit because I hate having to lug the pump around everywhere and I feel I can't do much physical activity.

I've even been working on the pros/cons. :P

    Pros:
    -Good for baby
    -Saves money
    -Best diet ever
    -I have an oversupply
    -I don't have a MOTN pump anymore

    Cons:
-Takes at least 2 hours a day, and my day is already packed.
-I pump and drive so I can spend my hour at home with LO. It sucks.
-It takes morning time away from LO.
-I have an oversupply (it's uncomfortable)
-I never feel up for lovin' because I'm too sensitive or it's time to pump
-Bad back pain from pornstar boobs
-Hungry ALL THE TIME. Even while I'm eating.

Yargh. I know the first pro should be enough, but it may not be. I feel very selfish considering stopping knowing that I have a large supply.
  • There was supposed to be an EP check in but we only had 2 and it's been a while... I'm a big lurker on mobile and don't post often but I did join the check in because it felt nice to not be alone in this endeavor. At 4 months I still have an oversupply. I pump about 4-5 times a day and get 8-10 oz each pump. I am seriously contemplating dropping down to a morning and night pump at 6 months and starting to supplement with formula because I'm over it, but I have to discuss with the pediatrician in a few days before I ultimately make my decision. I'm trying to take it one day at a time... Hang in there! One day we will reclaim our boobs!! Lol
  • I feel your pain! Now that I am back to work I rarely BF her during the week. It is A LOT of work and suddenly last week my supply started to fall. I'm trying to hold out as long as I can before we start supplementing but this past week I've been feeling like it won't be long. I'm trying to get to the 6 month mark but some days I don't know if it is going to happen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to supplementing at all, I just really wanted to hold out as long as possible!

One day I will have my boobs back, one day!
  • @‌LJGS1010 not having to do MOTN feedings is definitely nice! I pretty much dropped the MOTN pumping when I went back to work. Now I pump when I wake up for the gym around 4:20am (and my last pump is at 9:30pm). That still feels like the middle of the night sometimes though!
  • Thanks everyone! I am feeling better already. My goal is to get to 6 months. I am so close! I don't want to pump through the summer, so I think I will start slowing things down come late April. I know that sounds selfish, but I will trade pumping off with making LO's fruits and veggies. I had to do some supplementing in the early days, so LO is okay with formula (and so am I). Hopefully she is still okay with it. Keep up the good work and thanks for letting me know I am not alone.
