Well my time came on 40w2d. On Saturday I had my very first FTM contraction at 4:30pm. It was... Weird. I remember thinking... "Huh. Well I'm thinking that was it. Something is going to happen now." Btw- I have never had period cramps. So it was a very peculiar sensation.
Fast forward to 11:30pm where they started becoming regular about 12mins apart. Woke up the hubs and was like. "Pst. Hey. I think we're gonna have a baby today." His response, "oh. Cool. Can I go back to sleep?" Lol it was funny.
Labored at home til 9:40am
Checked in at about 10am - was at a 7.
Labored at the hospital til 2:30 when they broke my water (I was still a 7 and baby was sunny side up). Had meconium in the fluid so skin to skin would have to wait after she was checked by nicu as soon as she came.
Started talking about epidural etc at 3:30 (still 7. Still not fully engaged/ sunny side up).
Real shit hit the fan at 4pm. Had to push. Ring of fire (another distinctly new feeling you are able to pinpoint). They only were able to hook up an IV in my hep lock when my first pushing contraction hit, baby turned face down and dropped from +1 to -2 at once. Holy eff.
Miss Jamison Dale was born 20 minutes pushing later. 3/15. 8lbs 4oz. 21.5" long.
She's named after her maternal great grandpa and her mom/paternal grandpa. Passed all her tests and were at home. The dogs are great. One is indifferent and the other is on alert/always concerned. Lol
Best of luck to the other march moms. Your time will come. It's gotta come out eventually.
