Checking in and a vent...

First off, congrats to all of you who have had your babies!  I hope you are all doing as well!  I can't wait to join you all soon!

So I've been MIA for a bit - work has been absolutely crazy.  I am part time but have had to work full time hours to get everything done because it is the busy time of year, plus more keeps getting piled on me before I leave.  I decided that I would not stay late today and just come home to snuggle with my pups!  If I don't get everything done, so be it...

Anywho, I'm totally frustrated right now with my OB office.  I had an appt yesterday with the one OB who I hadn't met yet and I found her annoying (seriously, in how many ways and how many times do I need to explain I have had NO contractions???  The nurse just kept laughing bc I think she knew what I was thinking).  I leave, being told everything is fine and to come back in a week unless I go into labor.  Ok, no problem.  Well, I get a phone call first thing this morning from one of the nurses who asks me if they did an ultrasound yesterday.  Um, nope (I'd think you'd have that in your records).  She proceeds to tell me she has a note from the OB I saw yesterday that she wanted me to come in today for an ultrasound and she wanted to see if I could come in right away.  Well, no, I can't bc I'm on my way to work and I have to get my boss some stats for the board meeting this morning.  I asked her why.  She proceeds to tell me that my ultrasound from 2 and a half weeks ago showed I had "slightly elevated" fluids.  Um, why am I just now being told this?  In fact, the OB I saw immediately after the growth scan said everything was perfect - baby on the bigger side but not huge so nothing to worry about and passed the BPP with a perfect score.  I even saw another OB between then and yesterday's appt and nothing was said.  They had no appts this afternoon so I am going tomorrow afternoon - nurse said it was ok, not an emergency or anything.  But really?!!!  Why couldn't this have been mentioned during my appt yesterday so I could ask questions beyond was the nurse can answer?  And why the hell is it just being mentioned now?!!!  Thanks for adding to my stress level, thanks so much!  I'm hoping I can ask questions tomorrow and won't just be seeing the ultrasound tech who can't tell me anything.

  • Oh, that is super annoying! Can you call back and ask to leave a message to speak to the actual doctor? It might be nice to get a couple questions answered before you go in for the u/s.

Thanks ladies. I'm going to say something tomorrow about this. Even if it is just to the ultrasound tech. DH just came home and of course he googled it so now he is worried that our little girl has something wrong with her...I shouldn't have told him!
