DS is almost 6. He is 45lbs and 47 inches tall. He have him in a high back booster still (nautilus minus the harness). We are thinking of changing him to a turbo booster. (Just the seat) When did you change your kids over?
Ditto @fredalina After 5 there's no evidence that a high back booster is safer than a no back booster IF the child can achieve a proper belt fit. Switching to a backless means the shoulder belt needs to be on the shoulder but don't forget to fit the lap as well. Even though he'll still be boostered up, not every booster will give the correct fit on every kid so if you do switch him, make sure the lap belt isn't over his soft belly.
My DD is still in high back booster because she falls asleep in the cat still. I also cannot count on her to sit upright correctly all the time. She is 8.
This is the same with my 7 year old DS. We have a nautilus and a graco hbb.
ETA He's very tall, 4'4.5" but only 55lbs. He just seems too skinny IMO for a nbb. I feel like when he fills out more he will fit one better.
