sleep schedule

I am psychologically analyzing myself and I have about decided that a lot of my issues stem from sleep. I tend to have pretty broken sleep. Alice wakes up 2-3 times a night. Blah. What is yalls sleep schedule like?

Re: sleep schedule

  • Wesley still wakes up 1 to 2 times a night sometimes more, he will usually sttn 2 times a week and that's it so I get broken sleep for the majority of the time. I try to take naps on the weekend to help or if we have had a bad night with lots of wakeups and my h has already left for work I will bring him to bed with me, but I don't want to make that a habit for him but sometimes kpmma needs sleep. I have only started offering milk if he wakes up at 2am before that we just rock back to sleep. Sometimes though he will wake up and go back to sleep on his own but we are still working on that. I hope Alice starts sleeping for you soon. I keep telling myself at some point  they will sleep. Hang in there momma.

  • B wakes up a few times here and there but lately she's been settling herself down within a minute or two and going back to sleep. But I always have a lot of trouble going back to sleep (like right now!) so I'm up for close to an hour each time even though I'm not actually getting up with her.

DH can go from wide awake to asleep in bed in about 2 minutes, I don't get it. He says he "clears his mind".

  • DS sleeps through the night now but I think I am permanently damaged from the 13 months he didn't sleep through the night. I still wake up at least once a night, average twice. I'll also wake up if DS makes even a small noise, even though he's in the next room with both doors partially closed. Sigh, I've come to accept it.

My DH is the same as stephcarter's. He is snoring even before I have made myself comfortable in bed.

  • Ds is sleeping pretty much through occasionally he will wake. But usually he can settle himself. I try to not to rush in intil I have given him 2-5 min to settle himself.

  • DS STTN most of the time, unless he's sick or teething.  So we can go for weeks with him STTN, then we get a week of several MOTN wake ups.

The reason why we did sleep training AND night weaning was b/c I was getting terrible sleep at night. I have a hard time falling back asleep (no trouble falling asleep at the start of the night).  I would stay awake for 2 hours MOTN before being able to go back to sleep, by then it's almost morning.  I was miserable every day and that was why we had to sleep train.

These days, DS is asleep by 8:15pm. DH & I go to bed around 11p (really should aim for 10:30p but I procrastinate), and wake up around 7am.  DS usually wakes us up around that time.

I will admit, I do have it relatively easy compared to others. She goes down without a fight at 8ish. Wakes up at 12, 3, and sometimes 5 but only needs me to go lay her back down and give her a kiss. Up for the day between 7:30 and 8. But while *she* goes right back down, I don't. On a good night, I'm back asleep in 15-20 minutes. Otherwise its5 closer to an hour or two.

I talked to Husband and he agreed to take a weekend night (he works, I sah) so I can have on3 uninterrupted night. But he doesnt hear her when she cries, so I am still gonna have to wake him up to go lay her down. But at least I won't have to actually get out of bed. Plus he takes her for weekend mornings to give me a couple hours to myself. So I'm hoping that helps.

  • J STTN 50 / 50. She is very sensitive to teething and just in general being crazy. A great night will be sleep 8 PM - 7 AM (like last night). Average would be 8 PM - 6:15 AM. If she wakes MOTN she generally wants to co sleep or cuddle so not a huge deal. But if it's teething pain she can psychotically scream for an hour at a time. We had a day like this this week. Ugh.

I am a great sleeper, lol. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?

  • oh and J is still struggling to drop nap #2. She takes a second nap still 1/3 of the time. Her afternoon nap is rarely 2 hours, more like 1.5. I would love to have a solid 2 hour nap in the afternoon and none of this morning nap craziness.

Naps are insane here.  She sometimes goes down at noon.  or 12:30.  Or she may just skip all together until like 3.  Or if she is really trying to kill me, she may just not nap at all. LOL  I try to keep her on a schedule, but sometimes life gets in the way.

  • Ashley sucks at sleeping and has only slept through the night once in the past year. She goes down around 8:30ish then always up by 11:00. Then after that she won't stay in her crib and she will wake up at least 1-3 more times.
  • She sleeps 10pm to 8:30-9:30am. Naps 2-5, sometimes a little earlier or later depending on what time she gets up and how busy we were in the morning.  Don't flame, she goes to bed with no problem and I can count on one hand the amount of times she has woken up overnight (all teething related).  She has been STTN from early on- and unlike @mbm1983 our doctor told us NOT to wake her up overnight since she has always gained weight with no problem.
  • DH and I take turns with the monitor/ear plugs. On his nights with the monitor, I use ear plugs and don't hear anything. If she gets up, he'll go and sleep in the spare room with her. I have an awesome husband.

On my nights recently she has been STTN, so I've been getting good sleep, but I am SOOOO TIRED for some reason. Like first trimester tired.

  • For some reason I get more irritated when people say "don't be mad at me." Trust me, I am not mad at you. Just state the facts please, lol.

  • bed time 7:30 ish

sleeps until about 6:30, pretty much STTN but may crab a little bit. H will sometime get up to comfort him (he shares our room still, it actually works well for us)

about a 2 hour nap from 1-3. It's always in this window at daycare but can vary a bit on the weekend. Whenever he starts crabbing I put him down.
