Vacationing with toddlers

We booked a vacation to Cancun the first part of June. Here is my question to traveling mamas with children:

Do I bring a car seat?? Our travel agent said Mexico doesn't require one and that our transfer from the airport to our resort is a bus or a cargo van depending on how many people are being picked up. We aren't planning on traveling around Mexico everyday, but we did want to go swim with the dolphines one of the days. The rest we will probably spend at the resort itself.  

What does everyone sugguest?? I am so torn because my mommy gut says take it, but I feel like we won't use it and it will be a waste and a hassle.

    We didn't take ours when we went to Aruba in January (car seats are not required there either). We  called the hotel concierge ahead of time and asked them for the name of a car service that would provide a car seat. We made arrangements for the car service to pick us up from the airport and bring us back. We also called them when we went on a short outing away from the resort. Everything worked out great, but it was more expensive than just going with the airport transfer bus. Just FYI that the car seat provided was forward facing (but it looked brand new and very secure). We figured it was still way better than no car seat at all. And we couldn't have imagined lugging our Britax convertible seat along with everything else we packed!

    We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.  

    We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.

    Have you checked out if there is a place in Cancun that rents baby gear?  I know some heavy tourist areas have services like that.  Maybe do a google search?

    That having been said, while a pain, we lugged our car seat to Cancun over New Years.  They check it for free.

    Excited for you for your trip, though!  We just got *more* snow and a beach sounds pretty darn nice right now.
