Baby Theodore has arrived!

Well last night at 1am I got up to use the bathroom and whoosh! Water all over the hallway. I started in with this insane "I'm so excited, I'm so scared" laughter, And DH sat straight up in bed, sure he was going to be confronted by a lunatic (which he was actually :)

Things started off very quickly, although I want having many contractions I went from a 2 to a 6 in about two hours. And then of course the pain set in. Ladies did not get an epidural - HOW??? I am crazy jealous of your strength, because I thought I was actually going to die from pain at one point! After the epidural the contractions stopped so they put me on pitocin and soon I was a 10.

I couldn't figure out how to push which sucked because I felt like such a failure! I never understood women who say "I can't do this" during birth until today! But when I finally got it things got rolling again and in the end we were in L&D for 10 hours before Theodore Thomas was in my arms. My husband didn't cry, but when I woke up from a cat nap earlier he was doing skin to skin and tearing up over how much he loved our little man. At 7lbs 3oz and 20.25 inches he was smaller than even the delivery nurses expected. And at 37 weeks and 6 days we were shocked to have a St Paddy's baby boy! All I keep thinking is how hard it is going to be to sleep on his 21st birthday - disaster! :)
