My legs feel like they want to give out!

Anyone else have legs that just feel like they want to give out after standing for a little while? I don't know if I'm not used to supporting the weight or what but I feel like I cannot move my legs after being upright a while. Anyone else sharing this misery??

Re: My legs feel like they want to give out!

  • I've had my legs give out on me... not fun. I have Sciatica and it's getting the best of me these days. I'm posting an eviction notice soon! :)

  • Oh yeah, usually when I am standing for a while.
I guess our bodies are just tired.
  • Yeap if anything hurts its my legs after a short period of standing. Doc says baby has dropped and is really low so that prob doesn't help either. A good excuse to keep legs up a s take it easy.
  • You are not alone! I'm still ok to walk (grocery stores, parks, public places, etc)
What's weird is that i can't stand in the same place for more than a few minutes. I get really dizzy and light headed, i also feel like my legs are going to give out and I'm going to faint. I don't get relief unless I start moving/walking again or sit down.

  • At least were all in it together right? @Ashleypixie‌ I feel the tailbone pain too. Sitting usually results in cutting off blood flow and pins and needles in my feet. So now I can't stand, walk or lay on my sides (or back or stomach, obviously!) comfortably!

Me too! I have no problems walking, but standing still I feel like I am going to vomit, I get lightheaded and generally weak. Can't understand this!

  • Yep, my legs get REALLY tired after a few minutes of standing in the same place.  It seems to help a lot if I check my posture -- make sure my weight is evenly distributed on my feet (split between my big toe, little toe, and heel, and not all the weight on my heels like I usually stand), evenly distributed between my left foot and right foot, and that my knees stay slightly bent to keep from feeling faint.  Still, my feet and legs just can't take it for more than a few minutes :-)

  • I've given up on doing my makeup most days because of this. Unless my husband and I go out or we are planning to see anyone we know, I skip it because standing in front of the mirror that long (like 15 minutes for hair and makeup) is just impossible. And even when I do it, I sit on a bar stool in front of the full length mirror behind my door. So done!
  • My legs and feet get extremely tired also. I think its just thing :-P I sit down when I start to feel it.

  • My legs always feel like they're getting a work out, like I'm climbing a hill when I walk. I could barely walk through Home Depot earlier! I'm still working occasionally (I'm a hair stylist) for clients that I really like, but I think it's time to take a break. Do you also have trouble sitting? Like there's too much weight on your tailbone? My body is crushing itself.

I have the same tailbone pain! Like every time I sit it feels like it might break.

I sit on my bathroom counter to do hair/makeup.
  • Anyone get to the point where you need to help move your legs for them?!

I complained about being in pain from sitting too long at work (I get the tailbone pain like others have mentioned) and one of my coworkers pointed out that I have a standing desk (it moves up and down at the touch of a button).  That person got the virtual TP, so hard.   Yeah....I don't do standing in one place these days.
  • I have been having some sort of issue with pinched nerves, especially in my right hip joint that keeps twinging and causing loss of strength/stability to that leg. I've almost crashed and burned multiple times today alone....

  • Yeah, my SPD makes standing tough with shooting leg pain...but walking and sitting suck, too. I'll take that outside baby anytime now.
