Early 4MW? Anyone?

I'm usually on the December board but I had DS on Nov 25. He is 16 weeks today but for the past week he has been a nightmare to deal with. He used to be such a good baby.

Did anyone start the 4MW early? He doesn't turn 4 months until next Monday so I am trying to find out what the deal is. He doesn't sleep well, doesn't eat well, and cries all the time. My pedi said it might be colic but everything I've read says colic ends around this time, not just beginning.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

  • I think we're hitting it early too. Add that to transitioning from the bassinet to a crib and we've had rough nights. Good luck! I hope your experience will be better!

Oh man! We tried to transition him to crib from rock n play this weekend and DS was not having it. I just sidelined that for another weekend maybe after this spurt is over with. I need to get on it though. He's outgrowing his rnp big time. Good luck to you!

  • DS was born on the 25th also. We have been dealing with some teething but haven't hit the 4mw yet.
  • My guy is 11/21 and he's been doing all this craziness for about 1 week and 1/2.

I thought DS started at 3mos 3 wks. We had a week from hell and then it it better for a few days. Then it went to shit again. We are simultaneously doing the 4MW, back to back colds, and swaddle weaning. It sucks. Hopefully yours will be better.
Yep, pretty much this. But throw in the 3 month GS. DS was STTN and then around 13 weeks he started getting up to eat once a night. Then he was up pretty frequently with a cold, we were dealing with the 4MW, had to wean from the swaddle, and he got another cold. After 1 am we saw him up every 40 minutes to an hour for awhile there. Now we're back down to 1 or 2 MOTN wake-ups. He'll be 20 weeks on Thursday.

As for the fussiness, I don't know what that's about but we've been dealing with it also. DS used to be so content, he hardly ever cried at all. Since this all started he's been yelling at us, and fussing and crying frequently. I wish I could say it's gotten better but the last few days have been really rough.

Good luck, I hope this phase is very short-lived for your LO.
