No, I used to when she was just learning how to sit but she's been sitting up for months now and she never tips over, I worry a little more now since she's pulling up on things but truthfully she doesn't have a long way to fall, I know I won't be able to prevent everything, and since half of our house is tile its going to happen
We have hardwood throughout the house, but he really only spends time on the area rug in the living room and the one in his room. But if he's on the (tile) floor in the kitchen, I'm just right there with him, so I don't really worry about him falling.
Yeah hes been sitting up for months as well i just was afraid of him really hurting his head. Hes pulling up on everything now and trying to walk along everything.
we don't. we have resigned ourselves that some falls are bound to happen. With that being said - we stay as close to her as we can when she is pulling up. (she sits really steady - so we don't worry about that anymore) and we try to keep her barefoot - she slides around so much more in socks!! Good Luck!
We bought a rug for our living room and we kept her on that while she was learning to sit. Even when she was learning we set our boppy up behind her so if she tipped back or to her side it would cushion her. That saved her more than a few times!! Now that she's somewhat mobile when she gets on the hardwood I just watch her more carefully. She has tipped over and bonked her head, and I felt horrible, but I think it scared her more than anything. I'm not going to put her in harm's way but it's a fine line between her learning to monitor herself and me doing everything in my power to keep her from getting hurt. Does that make sense?
When mine was first starting to stand (around 7.5 months) we kept him on the area rugs (covering wood floors) for 2-3 weeks while he was still wobbly and fell a lot. By 8ish months he was sturdy and rarely fell, so we stopped watching and hovering and let him do his thing. A few bumps wont hurt him.
We have laminate on our entire first floor. In our living room area we have letter block flooring out down that acts as a bit of padding if she falls. She was such a spitter that we had to get rid if the area rug.
Re: If you have hardwood floors/tile etc...
I used to put the boppy around him. It helped him sit up plus prevented any bumps when he would throw himself back.

I found that Little Miss slipped and fell more often WITH a blanket or a comforter on the hardwood floor.
