This is a weekly thread for runners who are due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays. All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. This is a place to talk about running while pregnant, training, runs, races, gear, recovery, nutrition, and whatever else we can think of. Anyone who posts here regularly should feel free to start the thread on Mondays if it seems to be missing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ How were your runs this week? Lay it on us... GTKY: Do you have any gear you bought for running/working out pregnant? Was the purchase worth it?

  • Sorry! The format is all jacked up and my iPad doesn't seem to want to change it... :( How were my runs? Ok, not as many or as long as I would have preferred. I was in San Antonio with my students mon-thurs, and only made it to the hotel gym twice for 3 miles total. We walked a ton though. I was introduced to swollen ankles/feet, and that wasn't fun. I got home and immediately got strep, so back to the gym today! GTKY: I bought a heart rate monitor/watch like the day I found out I was pregnant because when I had talked to my doc about running pregnant previously she told me to keep my hr below 150. I love it, although I found that I'm still comfortable with a hr around 160... I JUST got my Gabrialla band today, and I'm antsy to try it out tonight!! Hope you are all well and healthy regardless of if you're still running!

    I didn't buy anything new during this pregnancy. I already had a support belt, water bottle belt, etc.
  • Hi!  I had an alright week.  I got out 4x doing weights/bike/elliptical.  Workouts are 45 minutes long these days and it seems like enough for me.  

    I haven't really bought much besides a few shirts that ended up not working out.  I'm running out of shirts fast now and I just don't know what to do.  I hate wearing tanks now because my arms are less than toned these days.

    On another note, I had a gift card to the running store that expires at the end of the month so I got my self a new pair of shoes for after pregnancy.  They will be my motivation to get back in shape!

  • How were your runs this week? Lay it on us...
    Not bad but nothing to brag about either. I only got a couple runs in last week for about 5 miles total plus some walks in between.

    GTKY: Do you have any gear you bought for running/working out pregnant? Was the purchase worth it? I got two tops from old navy that have a "bubble" shape to accommodate my belly and I love them! I also got a pair of foldover capris from there that are working great for yoga. I will likely be investing in a gabrialla band soon.

  • hey runners!

    my runs/workouts this week remained good.  i was able to lift, run and go to prenatal yoga throughout the week.  i also treated myself to a prenatal massage which i really recommned if you havent had one yet.

    i ddint buy anything new, i just now wear all of my longer tanks.  i have about 5 or 6 that i can wear that still cover my belly.  i actually need to buy new sneaks, but i might wait until after so my feet are actual size lol.

  • Hey there! Had a 5k on Saturday morning, it was great. I am hoping to get one more in before June and the Atlanta humidity. Ran the first mile of it, then walked the rest for the most part. I started in one of the last corral's out of respect for the other runners, I did not like it! LOL!! 

    I bought the gabriella support belt as well. It tends to push a little too much on my bladder, maybe it's the way I wear it though, but I do like it. Costco had long tanks on sale back in December and I bought 3 of them. They are perfect for my belly and will last me til the end and probably after baby.
