In ours we put the corned beef in the crock pot with cut red potatoes and seasoning packet. We add usually 2 cans of beef broth (sometimes 1.5) and a .5 can of Guinness. (DH drinks the rest of the can)
Probably too late for this but it is from my Irish MIL. Marinate lean side up overnight in liquid smoke, Worchester sauce, celery salt, garlic salt and onion salt (about a tbl each dry and 2 for the liquids). Scrape marinade off and save. Flip to fat side up. mix saved marinade with a 1/2 to 1 cup, dep. on how big your meat cut it, of BBQ sauce and pour over. Cook 250, covered for 5 hrs. It comes out great. My MIL is a terrible cook but this is one recipe she got right.
