Congrats to everyone for making it here! This check in is for graduates of the 2IF board (and any other secondary infertility grads). If you are new to the check-in, please let us know your due date and you will be added for next week.
It was great hearing from all that posted last week and I loved hearing everyone's baby name choices! Tryingyetagain - I cracked up every time I read your description of DH's North and South Carolina joke! Glad your protein levels came back normal. Ally510, that is awesome that your restrictions have lifted! MJC1116, I will keep my fingers crossed you can avoid bedrest! Hope you get another massage soon - that sounds heavenly! So excited to hear from SouthernMomma, kndeckar and kristylynn26 - keep us updated! AlmostWright, so great that you are feeling movement! And Cerad5, glad your SCH has resolved - hope that you and Cheesypeas are hanging in there with the nausea! The end of the first trimester can't come soon enough!

1. How many weeks along are you?
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?
3. How are you feeling lately?
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling?
Re: **2IF Grad Check-in**
I'm 9w4d
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)? Another check up with an ultrasound next Monday. After that I'll be released to every 4 wk visits.
3. How are you feeling lately? Still having sore breasts and nausea. All good signs
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling? They will be four years and 10 months. We have already told DD and have told close family and friends. Sometime in 2nd tri we will take some pics of her in a Big Sister shirt and go Facebook public. She's excited and says she can't wait to help change diapers and feed the baby.
2. I had my first OB appt last week (my RE released me a couple of weeks ago) and it was uneventful. No ultrasound and didn't check for the heartbeat. I can't wait for the ultrasound next week!
3. I hurt my lower back over the weekend when I bent down to pick up my son and it has been bothering me ever since! It feels so tight and it hurts to move around much. Other than that, I have been feeling ok, just trying to keep my anxiety under control!
4. Jeffrey will be 2 years, 3 months when LO is born, assuming I make it to my EDD. If everything works out, DH and I plan to tell my family on Easter Sunday. I am going to change Jeffrey into a shirt that says "I am being promoted to big brother" and hope my family notices, lol! I have tried telling him a couple of times that there is a baby in my tummy but he doesn't understand yet.
1. How many weeks along are you?
8w4d
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?
No appointments until 3/31 but I did find the heartbeat on my home doppler yesterday! Only another week or so until I hit the point where my first LO stopped growing.
3. How are you feeling lately?
Fine. I feel like the nausea is stabilizing. I was fearful it was going to keep getting worse but it's been pretty constant at the "I don't feel so good but I'm not going to puke" level for over a week now. That's a good level of nausea to be at I think.
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling?
They will be exactly 3 years apart if LO comes on his/her due date. I'm not sure yet on how we'll announce but we'll probably involve DS. I don't think we're going to tell DS until we get to that point though. He seems to somewhat get pregnancy from exposure to multiple pregnant teachers at his day care. He sometimes states that he has a baby in his belly, and once asked me if my boob was a baby....so it's hard telling what will come out of his mouth once we finally tell him that mommy has a baby in my belly. It's best that we not mention anything to him until we want the world to know.
October 2011 - DS (7)
July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)
August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)? Nothing - -next appointment is on Wednesday. Can't wait to get weighed again! 8-|
3. How are you feeling lately? Feeling pretty uncomfortable. Some days are better than others. It was over 90 yesterday in CA, so my feet started to get swollen. I thought I'd beat being pregnant in the summer, but I guess we're going to skip over spring here.
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling?
TTC #1 4/2009 - DD 2/5/10
TTC #2 since October 2011
2IF issues
I'm 34 weeks and starting to experience more discomforts. Hips hurt, not sleeping, right hand numb a lot, headaches, so tired, the list goes on. But I'm happy as I can be, and so ready to meet this little baby girl who keeps jabbing me like crazy.
Had our 34 week appt Friday, and got the induction scheduled for 4/19 at 7:30am. So excited to have it official! But everyone seems to think she might come earlier, myself and my OB included.
QOTW: DS turns 8 on 4/10, so they will be almost exactly 8 years apart. DH and I have the same birthday (four years apart), so I think it would be so neat if she arrived on his birthday so we all have a birthday partner. I'm nerdy that way. My nephew's birthday is 4/19 though, so she might get a birthday buddy either way. I would have loved to involve DS in announcing, but he has been very apprehensive about the baby since we first told him. He enjoys being an only child and has never expressed much desire for a sibling! We have been working on really giving him a lot of attention and reassuring him that we will love him just as much as we do now, after she is born. I know he will make a great big brother, especially when I see how good and patient he is with the 2-year old girl I babysit.

Ultrasound 9/13/13: 8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
Baby is due 4/26/14
Hi!
Can you let me know if it's appropriate for me to join this check in? I had primary infertility & after a hellish journey became pregnant with my son through IVF with RISCI (actually with twins but the twin was lost :-( ). He is now almost 1 year old. Because of our DX there is pretty much zero possibility of ever having a non- team science pregnancy so there hasn't been any independant "trying" for baby #2 as such. When my son was 7 months old I stopped producing milk so I could get my hormones back to normal & start testing to get back into treatments. Just finished an IVF w/ISCI and a SET and lo & behold we got a BFP!!! Kind of shocked it was so easy! (not easy as such but compared to everything with #1 it was all very uncomplicated)
1. How many weeks along are you? 4 weeks & 1 day
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)? Having a 3rd beta sometime this week I think.
3. How are you feeling lately? Zero symptoms, kind of tired but I think that may just the whole emotional process of going through IVF.
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Just under 1 year and 8 months. Closer together in age than ideally if we had the ability to choose but due to primary infertility we wanted to start trying again pretty fast as didn't know how many years it would take to get pregnant this time around (& I'm 37 in a few months & we had no frosties). Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling? Little dude has no idea what's going on but just knows that Mummy & Daddy are very happy! :-) If anyone has a toddler around a year & 8 months right now, do you think they are developmentally at the age yet to understand? Can't even begin to imagine how funny it will be to let him feel the baby kick! :-)
12 weeks 3 days! (Is 13 or 14 weeks considered 2nd tri?? I've heard both?)
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?
I have a 4D gender scan coming up March 29th, I'm just to impatient to wait it out lol.
3. How are you feeling lately?
Less nauseous, but more headaches and pretty tired.
4. QOTW: how far apart in age will your LO and DS/DD(s) be? Did you involve them (or plan to involve them) when you announced your pregnancy and are they old enough to understand they will have a sibling?
There will be a 7.5 year age gap between the two.
We haven't told DD the news yet... DH & I plan to tell her together when he returns from deployment. We are so excited, hope she is too! :-)
Hope everyone is feeling okay! Hugs!
2. I had my 20 week scan today & everything looks great. Phew...another hurdle passed.
3. I'm feeling good
4. DD will be 2 yrs, 9 months when the baby arrives. Her DC teacher is due in a couple of weeks, so she gets the whole baby in the belly thing. I showed her my u/s after 12 weeks & asked her what it was. She said, "it's a baby!" Now that I'm beginning to show, I think she finally believes that it's in my belly. We're team green, but she insists she's having a baby brother.
2.) my next appt & anatomy scan is on April 3rd
3.) Feeling pretty good. Still having some asthma/allergy problems which is annoying.
4.) QOTW: If everything goes as planned, DD will be 3 years 4 months when LO arrives. As much as I wanted things to happen sooner, I think it's going to be a really good age difference. She was excited at first but now I think she's kinda sick of hearing about it! Haha She was also disappointed when she found out she was getting a brother instead of a sister
