I'm a wannabee runner I'm going to do some 5k's this spring/summer. I signed up for one on May 3rd. I'm on week 5 of couch to 5k. I want to run outside but it has been too darn cold.
I used to be a runner, but I had to stop after having back surgery 3.5 years ago. I ran 3 half marathons. There's nothing like the feeling you have after finishing a long run! Good luck with your training! I'm super jealous! I'm hoping that someday I might be able to build up to a little running, but my long distance days are probably over.

I'm a wannabe, too. I started running last summer When I took off my weight. That was HARD. But my H is a runner.. and it was fun to do that with him. I stopped once the weather got gross, though. I know when I re-start, I'll be back ay square one and it will suck.
Also a wanna be here. Ran my first 5 k before christmas and was so proud of myself. Would love to start a program within the next few weeks once spring gets around to coming!
I used to run a TON before I got pregnant.... I have really bad knees, so we bought an elliptical and I use that instead. I would love to do a fitness check in though, I feel like we could keep each other track. What do you think??
@2013mommy We have a Nordictrack that is about four or five years old. We got it off Craigslist right after I had LO. We cancelled our gym membership shortly after we made the purchase and it has been well worth it. I am able to work out during LO's naps, or sneak a quick 20 minute workout in before my shower in the morning and I don't have to leave the house. I highly recommend it.
I'm a runner! I've ran 2 full marathons (Los Angeles and Portland), and try to run 3 mi in the morning. I'd love to do check ins- my biggest obstacle is waking up at 5:45 and sneaking out without waking dd (lightest sleeper EVER).
You guise! You are ALL runners The only reason I stick with mostly half marathons as my races is because I hate paying $40+ for a 5k. Races be 'spensive in SoCal.
I'm totally not fast and I did my first one on my first cancerversary. I say I "run like a swimmer"- which if you're a swimmer you would get. I'm awkward and slow, but I get it done. Now I pick one per year and do it as a "celebration" of something- this year it's my "back to me" year.
I've had to super-modify a half marathon training plan. My only time to train during the week is on my lunch break. Fortunately I have access to a shower so I get in about 2.5 miles 2-3 times per week, plus one long run on the weekend. So far it's working out ok.
I belong to my local Moms Runs This Town, but haven't yet gone on any group runs. It's seriously busy enough just trying to squeeze in a long run...but then to drive and meet people at the same time. I can't right now!

Oh you are a legit runner! I'd have to quit my job if I ever wanted to do a full marathon!
