I recently saw one at Buy Buy Baby in their clearance section and didn't know what it was. After looking it up, I could not figure out why in the heck it was so expensive. Isn't it just a bouncy chair? I don't get it.
I've heard mixed reviews. I don't know why they are so expensive. We have one (hand me down) from my sister in law who said my nephew loved it. It's kind of like a swing but it has a lot of different motions. You can hook your phone or iPod up to it to play music out of the speakers. Reading reviews it seems like it depends on the baby. Some love it and for some it moves too slow. I think there are videos online to kind of see how it moves. I personally wouldn't spend the money on it but since it was free.....
I liked the look of it but after watching a video product review I decided against it. The video said that the base can pinch fingers so watch other young children and pets. My toddler loves messing with machines so that crossed it off of my list.
I just saw those at Buy Buy Baby and although it looks kind of awesome and space-agey...it seems super overpriced. I agree with PP that it seems like just a bouncy seat, and I wouldn't spend that much when you can get them for much cheaper. We have this one and DD loved it! We'll be using it again.
We registered for it and were amazed someone got it for us as a shower gift! But it was the coolest, most useless thing we got. Didn't go fast enough to put our son to sleep or even keep him asleep. Ended up selling it in Craigslist. Not worth it for us!
My sister got it as a gift and had her twins in January, after seeing how it worked and that neither of her kids really liked it we decided against it. We survived just fine without it with DS and both of her kids like the same swing we had for DS better than the mamaroo anyway so we're just gonna stick with that
If they made one mommy and daddy size we would totally get one, but otherwise I don't like the price for something the little is only going to be able to use for a few months and may not even like
You guys are confirming my suspicions. I didn't see what all the fuss was about except for then looking cool. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
My sister got one as a gift a few months before her LO was born so we borrowed it and I liked it, I have it sitting waiting to use again for this LO, but I would never spend the money on it.
2 friends have told me that it's been a lifesaver, and both of their favorite gadgets. We registered for one and received it-I hope my baby likes it too!
Re: Mamaroo...did you?
I did not register for one. They have grown on me, though. They seem like a great space saver, but I registered for the snug-a-bunny anyway.
