  • I've given up on bathing suit body. I'm fat, with cellulite, and have more stripes than a zebra. I'll cover what I can with my one-piece, but the only option on this whale's beach is for no one to look.

Maybe take comfort in knowing you'll look better than me?

  • You could always wear what I wear - https://hydrochic.com/modest-swimsuits/modest-skirts-shorts-pants-skorts/long-swim-skirt/modest-swimwear-long-swim-skirt-16.html It's modest, it hides the flaws, and it offers extra UV protection ;)

  • Y'all, I feel the same way. I lost tons of weight BF-ing. At my best, I was down 12-15 pounds from my pre-preg weight. (Mama was workin' it at like, 125 lbs).  Now that we are no longer BF-ing, I'm disgusted by my body. I've gained it all back and then some. But I can't seem to get the energy together OR the time to fully workout.

However, I am starting to go to a hip-hop class this week with one of the teachers I coach. So maybe I'll stop being gross and get it under control

All of this is to say that @malriggs, I feel your pain.

Also, here's an unpopular opinion: I totally judge the shit out of anyone with kids who wears teeny-tiny bikinis. (I mean string bikinis or just tiny ones in general) You are no longer 15; so stop trying to look like you are. Grow up and wear a big girl bathing suit like the rest of us. Thanks and xoxoxo, Tarheel.

Whoa...wait a second, @TarheelMama202 you don't want to see my saggy C-long boobies hanging from two strings around my neck?? Are you suggesting I should let my a$$ cheeks get a nice tan when I am taking my children to the pool to play??  I don't even know you anymore....

  • It's so comfortable. There's no wedgie picking. And even better, I can run around and climb all over the place with my kids and not worry about stuff falling out.

  • Glad someone understand.

I bought a suit (tankini, I judge too @tarrheel) that's meant for surfers. It was expensive, but has lasted for years and everything thing stays in place. Even running around or In the waves

  • I am never buying a swimsuit again!!!!!11!!!

But actually since we don't go to the pool, I'll probably just wear shorts and a tank/t-shirt to the beach this summer :P

  • Well here's my bathing suit UO - I'd wear a bikini in a heartbeat if it looked good. In fact I bought a new one as inspiration to get my ass in gear!

  • I'm still rocking the bikinis. Granted, they aren't the teeny tiny string bikinis I wore when I was younger....but I am going to do it while my body still looks good in them. The trick is finding the RIGHT bathing suit that makes you feel comfortable.

Just because I have kids, I don't think I should be forced into one pieces with skirt bottoms!

I like wearing a swimsuits when I nurse. My big problem is the lack of boobs when I am not! I totally have a swimsuit I wear when not nursing that is a tankini with a bra and a little push up padding :) Also I am very pale, I don't tan, which makes the pool less fun. My UO to add onto tarheel's is I am not a mono-kini fan.

Oh @Sagen, I feel your pain on this one, on every account!  I looooved wearing a bathing suit last summer because I still had the milk boobs going on, and I was nearly back to pre-pregnancy weight, so quite honestly, it was probably the best I've ever looked in a swimsuit!

But now, even though I'm still nursing, my boobs have settled down, so they won't fill out my bathing suits as nicely.  And as always, I'm so pale that I'm nearly translucent.  It doesn't matter how thoroughly or how often I reapply my sunscreen, I can't seem to make it through a day at the beach without a sunburn.  Ick.

  • There's totally a difference between a klassy bikini and a teeny string bikini, y'all!

I definitely have a full-bottom two piece with a cute little top. I'm talking about the tiny specks of fabric that barely cover your ass, know what I'm sayin'? :D

  • I am in the worst shape of my life (physically, cardio wise not the worst)....anywho, I found a tankini at Target last year that is flattering and I don't mind wearing.  Check them out, they have great separates.  The one I got tied around the back of the neck and had a ruffle/skirt thing on the bottom....not like giant mom skirt, like cute teen skirt.  Skirt is not even the right word.  Just check them out :)

We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.

Crap, I just saw this and found out too late that I am the board bathing suit dork.  Ya'll, what I wear is really not a skirt bottom.  That was a poor word choice.  For realz.

I want to find a bikini with the shorts (not the look-at-my-vajayjay shorts, the kind that are low in the hip, shorter than bicycle shorts but long enough that I don't have to shave anything if I don't want to) and a top with support and coverage.

I'm pretty convinced no one makes this and I will have to sew my own.

I want a mod cloth one piece one of these days though...

I could do a skirt on a bathing suit if it looked like the 1890's-1900's a kind of bathing costume. I'd totally rock one of those poolside or at the beach.

  • @ally2011 - you're not the bathing suit dork. Did you see what I swim in? lol

  • @ally2011 I know what you're describing - and that's not what we are all thinking! No worries!

You're right though - I bought a couple of tankinis at Target. They have some really cute ones!

  • I'm kind of dreading swimsuit season already. Last year I had a one piece with tho fringy skitini thing on it. And I could see down there. No idea how I'm going to keep up swimsuit maintenance this year.
