poop question

My LO is 4 months old and EBF. Recently for the past week 1/2 atleast 1 poop a day have been a greenish/yellow colour. Then the rest are his regular bright yellow/orange colour. When you look at it in his diaper its a greenish colour and when you wipe him, on the wipe it is yellow. I have no idea if this is something I should be worried about or am I over analyzing his poop lol. He seems content not fussy, gassy or anything. Just the colour of some of his poops have changed. The only thing that I have changed in my diet is avocado's so not sure if that has something to do with it.

Re: poop question

  • Sounds normal to me. I wouldn't worry. Ebf poop can change.

  • OP - different colored poop is totally normal.  As PPs said, as long as it doesn't stay green and mucuosy all the time, don't worry about it.

@blonderedhead781  It's totally normal for a BF baby to skip a day or two here and there.  Especially once they are 2-3 months old or older.  I've known some LOs who only poop a couple times a week.  As long as baby doesn't seem to be in pain and as long as the poop is soft and not mucousy, I won't worry.    If baby does seem to be in pain or if the poop is hard then you need to talk with your pediatrician about methods to relieve constipation.
