I can't get a good picture to save my life. the first two are old pictures & the last is my band. My husband picked it out himself and it was exactly what I wanted
@supertoots my husband proposed with a twist tie too -- I still have it, actually! We didn't actually get engaged for a year later, but he "set his intentions" in the middle of the night with a twist tie fashioned into a ring. :-)
I'll post later - haven't put my rings on yet today and DH is sleeping in the bedroom!
Fun! I found a pic of mine on the internet bc my phone wouldn't take a picture close enough that isn't blurry. I went to a couple stores and they kept a card with the ones I liked. H went to one of the stores and asked for one of the rings- didn't look at any of the others, just took the one the salesperson told him to. Kind of funny!
H picked everything out with his mom. The only request I made after seeing the engagement ring was that I wanted a band for each side cause it looked kind of silly with just one. I think he did a-okay!
@nearly_klo I love gemstone rings, that's gorgeous! I had a aquamarine one but SO wanted to do the diamond thing. He just gave me this engagement ring for christmas and it's in the wedding band.
We got married with about a month's notice when we were moving back to the US, so I just had the band for 5.5 years. For Christmas when we were pregnant MH decided to give me an engagement ring.
Sorry I need to do my nails too. Jealous of all you well manicured ladies. . H picked this entirely on his own. It actually isn't what I thought I wanted - thought I wanted a plain solitaire. But now I love it. Guess he knew what he was doing!

I believe this is my ring also..if it's from Helzburg Diamonds I have the exact one
Mines also from helzberg, also an oval solitaire. How it came To be purchased is a fun story - we always said we'd have a ring made or buy an antique but when he was ready to buy I was not about to get picky! We picked it out together.
The bottom band is my wedding band; the top band is a pale aquamarine (j's birthstone).
H and I went looking at rings together. I showed him the style I liked and this is what he chose. It was a perfect pick! My engagement ring didn't have the 2 outside bands.
Everyone has beautiful rings! I love seeing different rings and knowing that each one is uniquely perfect for everyone!
Here are a couple wedding pics of ours - not taking a current pic of my nasty non-manicured hand right now. The solitaire ring was MILs until she decided she needed an upgrade - and had been in the safe deposit box for 20 years. It was nothing like what we had looked at, then I picked out the guard and I LOVED it. DHs is a simple titanium ring which he loved.
I picked mine out. It was 9 years ago now and I really love the styles available now, but overall I still like it. I wanted something simple. I need a manicure also!!
Here is mine! I didn't get the matching band because I liked this plain eternity band better. I thought I'd wear it on its own more often than I actually do. @Gracious1014 do we have the same ring?? Is it a Tacori?
@Debbie0580 It is! I also chose to get the eternity band instead of the matching band. At the time I was training horses for a living and didn't want to wear my engagement ring while riding all the time. Now I wear the two together all the time.
Love this thread. Late to the game. Mines a sapphire. I didn't want a diamond. The gold band on top is because my rings are too big and it would cost an arm and a leg to resize. It is also the ring my mom wore when she outgrew her wedding rings.
Re: s/o wedding rings
Also @ClandestineX Love that!
@Mommymorticia - Gorgeous!
ETA: or more accurately, a great pic of a gorgeous baby.
