Talk to Me About Growth Spurts

Does anyone have a good link to WHEN newborns have growth spurts?

I know 6 weeks but then I have no idea.

I really feel like LO is going through one now. He's 11weeks tomorrow and he's fussy, extra hungry, slept an 8 hour stretch Friday night. He is fed pumped BM only and his poop is almost nonexistent since Friday. Like hardly any ever. He still farts all the time so I'm not concerned about a blockage but so much food + no real poop must = growth spurt no

I guess I just need to know WHEN to expect growth spurts! Thanks!

    It 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months if I remember correctly. So if LO is 11 weeks it probably is the 3 month growth spurt.

    Was your LO early? (I only ask since you were in the Feb board)- mine was almost 4 weeks early and I think the doctor said his growth spurts will be occurring a little differently because of that. I find it all confusing because some things I feel like does right on time and some a few weeks later. So I guess I will just not know for awhile when he is supposed to do things!

    Yes he was 6 weeks early. Due feb 7, born 12/30.

    Ugh! Ok, well as long as it IS a growth spurt and I don't need to freak about virtually no poop I can deal. Just would have been nice to know WHEN these were coming but I guess no such luck.

    Yeah I was told not to worry about no poop as long as they are passing gas. Last week DD went 6 days with no poop. It was horrific when it finally happened though. It's own load of laundry. And she hasn't gone since. So we are on day 4. The nurse at the dr's said when they are bf and in growth spurts they use up everything in the milk. Leave very little waste so as long as they are passing gas and peeing it's ok.

    Op, I was told to go by adjusted age for growth spurts with ds1.

    @golfergirl08‌ yeah I do. He's in a stormy phase but didn't know if these "leaps" are the same as growth spurts.

    I am glad you posted this!  My LO is almost 7 weeks and has been fussy the last few days and hasn't pooped as much as normal.  This post makes me feel much better and explains the changes!
